I've never seen a game development company utterly mess up something like this. It's either malevolent or complete incompetence.

It was a story-based PvE event changed to PvP last minute (so people brought PvE ships), then the location changed last minute, then the entire group let straight into the lions den. Even the Twitch streamers were questioning the legitimacy of this encounter.

We were told by the event leaders (yellow text) to go into Doril. It was all a setup from the very beginning. The actual event leaders said "Ok now JUMP!" (into Doril) and tell people in the event to go through the gate KNOWING they will all die on the other side b/c TiDi was so horrible.

This wasnt an event. This was shameful. We certainly cannot trust these events ever again. Terrible way to launch an expansion.

This is like when a relative dresses up as Santa Claus and sets fire to the curtains, sure it looked like a mistake but you can smell the beer on him and he's laughing so hard he coughed up a cigarette butt.

Losing ships is not the issues here guys. Its the handling of the event. The dev on our side told us to jump in and the went silent. The Dev's at the event sites spilled some crap about the ship blowing up then left. The other fleet the devs dc'd on route leaving half our fleet there with no info on where to go. You add this to the other event and the way it was included makes me question any trust i previously had in the Dev's.

RAZOR are good. No one is blaming any lowsec corp for this and if someone came in my zone like this i would have done the same. But being forced to drilling 10 at a time because our fleets of over 3000 players have been intentionally split up causes this to happen. We all wanted to have a good fight if/when we came up against enough.

What would have happened if you guys were jumping into H.S with 10% TD and we were all sat on the other side waiting while you stream out in 1's and 2's? Would you call that a good fight?

INB4 statement from CCP apologizing for the mix up, saying they are putting live events on hold while they come up with a sound strategy for them (that they promise to run passed the CSM) , then shut up about tthe issue and say nothing for the next several months (ref ToSgate, somer blink promo, somer blink scorps, somer blink RMT) .

So.....you go into null sec with a disorganized group of hiseccers, most of whom have never been in a real fight.

You got demolished by an organized fleet with a decent comp.

When i logged in i heard about the event.I had 30 minutes left to get there. Most of my alliance and friends i know in other nullsec entities didnt even give a damn to go there.

I clonejumped 18 jumps out of the nullsec form up , bought me a ship and flew there dodging 2 neut gatecamps in null and one in low-sec.When i got there i had to reship ... then reship again and decided to dive in solo.
I got killed after the 2nd jump or so so bought myself a new ship , fitted it and joined a goon fleet of about 40ish guys.Went into system , kille stuff and got killed , jumped system and bought myself a new ship.Got back into the fightin area ..lost anothher ship and jumped to the next system again to reship ... jumped into the fight again to loose another ship and reshipped again to join the fight.

In short i was notified at a late time of the event and had to reship 4 times , using a market available to everyone to do so and so i did. Most high-sec players got shot down , warped from gate to gate to get home and got shot.

Now you can blaim this on CCP or RAZOR or anyone you like.Or you could blaim it on the fact that the way you are ''used to playing the game'' means you are used to not having to adapt and/or change strategy most of the times. That is our key difference in my opinion.

I had my suspicions about CCP's plan when they announced the gathering for people who wanted to play on the pirate side of things.

Once the destination was set to null by the FC's it was pretty obvious what was going to happen.

They'd have been more successful if they'd chosen a system a lot closer to Ihal for the initial gathering. Sarum Prim was so many jumps that probably half the original number never even made it out of high-sec before it was common knowledge what was going on.

This was my first experience with TiDi, and it was quite interesting learning what is and isn't affected by it.

I also learned to never go into low/null without a scram/disruptor fit. The one engagement I got into I lost because I couldn't keep the guy from warping out.

Overall it was a nice event, but it does seem like it was a big "**** you" from CCP to high-sec, that's for sure.

At the very least it could have been more organized. The execution of the prank was really poorly done.

A lot of people are missing CCP Soundwave today.

This is not a jab at CCP Falcon though. CCP simply tried something different today, and it didn't work out.

Now people, they mad.

Your talking about a PVP event. I know how to PVP :) i have no issues with it. This was pitched as a PVE event which was supposed to have multi empire support. What it turned into is the Dev's telling a large H.S Fleet to essentially split up and head into L.S. Once told to jump then disappeared! The State support wasn't even a shuttle lol

With any MMO if you join a Dev lead player event with no info of whats going on you follow them not wanting to miss out. Especially on a launch coming up to a expansion. This was just a mess. If the aim was to get people to see and experience the new content then the event failed. Most people didn't get their.

If this was a PVP event i still would have been their but half the fleet would not have. This turned into a turkey shoot. I was one of the last standing with the first fleet jump but cant do anything 1 vs 200 lol

This event went sour from the start. The HS faction was told that the objectives were secret and that we had to follow empire (CCP)directions to find the objective. We were then from the start placed in two rally points, then all send to a separate rally point, and then moved again.

The problem with this was most / all the nodes along the went wen to time dilation which got worse as the fleet moved, meaning the first fleets that moved went many times faster than the next fleets that moved. This problem was exacerbated by the fact the directions to players came over twitter and not in game, causing further split of the HS forces.

As the multiple HS fleets approached the second staging areas the fleets that were still 10-20 jumps away attempted to tell the closer FCs to hold place. The fleets initially moved 1 jump towards the final objective then held. However a CCP dev then intervened in game told everyone to jump because there was only a small force on the other side.

The HS fleets that were present were then in a position of listening to their FCs or listening to a CCP Dev on what to do. Unlike the NS/LS groups the HS fleets didnt know our FC's from anyone else and figured the Dev was telling us to jump as part of the event. This lead to the initial massacre.

The second set of fleets which I was in then started hearing reports of ENTIRE FLEETS of HS members dying with little to no kills inflicted causing mass confusion in the ranks, desertions of fleet (including my FC), and an eventual decision to hold in place until more direction or plans could be conceived.

This problem started with poor communication from CCP event leaders, and a strangely timed intervention by a CCP dev ordering HS fleets into a battle as if they were our FCs. That combined with what was mentioned previously in this thread of the NS location to attack led to this debacle.

I am sure a well organized NS fleet would have still beat the disorganized HS fleet in a battle, but this wasnt a battle we were told about, this was an ambush that CCP lead us into.

I enjoyed the event, and I hope CCP makes more of these in the future.

However i do wish that next time, the "FC" broadcast targets when we find a gatecamp rather than just asking people to burn away from the bubbles and warp out. People that went that far in that heavy tidi were hoping to be able to do a fleet fight, not all that organized with no comms but still a fleet fight, it had everything to be a fun fight but the CCP FCs literally did nothing outside of telling people where to go and quiting when everyone died, i guess next time i better form up with the pirates Pirate apparently they had a lot of fun.

Probly been pointed out already but the new destination was our home system with razor's one jump away and we all actually had much better things to be doing than trying to wage a war with our staging sys in 10% tidi.
-edit, and yeah no idea why they felt the need to bring you guys a) to the middle of the warzone where we're having 1-2-3 thousand person fights daily, and b) not reinforce any of the nodes.

Ok just took part of the event. This simply put was a set up by CCP to hand kills to lowsec!

How did RAZOR get set up that quickly of it wasn't for time dilation allowing then nearly an hour get get their ahead of the dilated systems! Our fleet jumped in to what was simply put... a set up. Was this CCP's present to RAZOR ? perhaps all the goons complaining about "carebears" was too much and the Dev's gave in?

I love PVP, i love the game. But this set up is utterly unacceptable!

Once formed up the destination was to a highsec sys boundering a low-sec system.
After that the destination was through low-sec to a null-sec system.
The next destination was null-sec.

There was an invitation to help the ''pirates'' by forming in null-sec syndicate .
