Pirates put out own call for assistance

The chances for the Empires and Pirate factions bumping heads just went way up to about 100%. Rally time is the same as those of the great empires.

This is about to get messy, kids.

A better reference may be the Scope article here.

"We have reason to believe that our assault on this threat to New Eden will be met not only with open hostility, but with a cold and calculated counterblow," said Kilkkuken Mallen, CONCORD representative.

This sounds-- messy, indeed.

Of course, sir. Of course. The capsuleers whose combat power you're hoping to harness won't loot the field, salvage every last scrap of metal, and ignore the lifepods as usual.

Unless the capsuleers are the ones the empires intend to 'cleanse'

I doubt that would happen, but that'd make me twitchy.

Given the rumored rally points in Curse and Syndicate, my only assumption is that CONCORD is intending to hit multiple facilities run by outer region forces-- likely related to the Syndicate detonation, and probably not Sansha, excepting as Sansha may have been tied with a new wormhole technology.

But why now of all times? OK the pirates have new tech big deal. This kind of assemblage hasn't happened since the Sansha cleansing years and years ago. What could possibly be THAT much of a threat that people wanna go into the low zones and take the fight to them???

The only reason both side would amass such a force would be to collect some sort of weapon. We only seem to help each other if the reward is the abilty to destroy each other.

I do not have access to my astrogation starmap right now. Is there a star system where a route from all four of the known rally points could intersect?

It was inevitable that the four major empires would suddenly realize that all of the resources they are spending fighting each other could essentially cleanse their systems. I'm somewhat surprised it hadn't happened earlier.

It may have something to do with the pirates having something the four empires now want. I suppose the foot may be on the other shoe, now.

Imagine, if you will, the outer region factions being able to open wormholes to unscouted, unsettled space, or to Jove space, or to be able to come and go at will from specific systems in wormhole space. We already have to deal with the Sanshas reverse-engineering Jovian technology. What happens if the Angels managed to slip in? Or the Guristas?

Maker, what if there's another stargate network that's been fractured from the cluster, and the pirates get first access to old Terran installations? Or Isogen-5 depots?

I'm not sure what exactly is going on, here, or what the end game is, but a creative mind can see that there is a lot of opportunity and a lot of risk to be had here.

Pirates won only because we were stuck in high security space in traffic, travelling from Sarum Prime to Ihal.

If we were there in time, pirates would have no chance!

Stupid capsuleer commanders decided to split fleets, without waiting for heavy battleships to come and help, and were suiciding their fleets against pirates, who were travelling through empty low and null security space.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.
