They did name it appropriately though, "Rubicon...there is no turning back." Indeed no turning back from the downfall of eve online...err I mean ganking online. Forgive me, i forget about gankers.

So, you still play the game, though.
This leads me to believe that you and everyone else who talks like you is either a drama queen, or determined to go down with the ship. If the first one... stop talking and biomass. If the second one... hold on tight, because if this ship is sinking, it's going to be at least another decade before it's beneath the waves.

There is no drama involved in stating the truth. I stay because I have been for the better half of EvE and do hate to see it go down. However, I would hope that CCP wakes up before it does crash and burn. Saying it will decline isnt the same as saying its done for good.

I just got done telling Frying Doom this same thing:

EVE is *growing*, not dying. Do a little research. Google is your friend.

Maybe you should do some research or explain if you are right why is it that the PCU this June, just finally got back to pre-Incarna levels.

Also you are aware that those subscriber numbers and the PCU include trial accounts right?

Maybe instead of making crap up and telling people to google your wild ass theories, you actually show us these links but I doubt you can as the internet is not yet capable of linking to someones fairy tales.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

If your idea of "growing" is the influx of new accounts, that is an inaccurate measurement as new accounts have the possibility to be alts of older accounts. EVE sustained a loss in subscribers over Odyssey...i doubt Rubicon (which in my view is more invasive than odyssey) will bring many back and will in fact see more leave. In short...a decline.

You actually use reason in your arguments. So, I will keep debating you. But not right now... it's past my bed time. My girlfriend is going to be mad if I stay up much later.

But seriously, waiting for Rubicon and the 'Sky has fallen' threads.

You forgot "Jake Warbird Sucks, Nerf him"! CCp is going to come to your house and when they are done, you will be 10 inches shorter and less good looking. They will proclaim you "Balanced" and fly back to Iceland. Cool

The thing is with Rubicon is that is just so... well underwhelming.

I mean bug fixes should not be a major part of any expansion, they should be things which are constantly done yet CCP seem to including them in expansions and advertised them as a feature.

Also with Ship rebalancing.. its not like they take 100's of man hours to accomplish.

The ships already exist, its a matter of tweaking numbers in a database and then releasing a dev blog for people to tell them were they have gone wrong.

Here is the website for Rubicon

You telling me that excites you?

What is actually new... 4 deployable units, 3 ships, ISS Ship guide and Ghost Sites.

Everything else is either bug fixes or changing a few numbers on a Database.

There is nothing in this expansion which is game changing, nothing which is exciting.

All that will happen is a few weeks after the release pos siphons will be changed because of the sheer amount of crying and butthurt on the forums when the goons swap New Eden with them.

For myself, I am happy that CCP appear to be spending some time fixing what we already have, re-balancing ships etc, although it would be nice if they were to fix POSs etc as well.

Fix what we already have, then add large amounts of new game play.

Oh and the sooner DUST is abandoned the better.

I can never work out why a game I do not play on a platform I do not own, should be allowed to have any impact on a game I do pay for and play.

This is not a signature.

it's a pretty good expansion for newer players and casual players, opening up null for all kinds of possibilities.

previously i wouldn't have even bothered running missions in null but with trusty yurt and T3 it should be quite viable. you won't need to go near a station or gimp your fit.

I tend to agree with this statement. The word expansion implies just that, expanding the game. Adding new mechanics, content, and features would be just that. Apocrypha for example added wormhole space, Incursions added incursions, and many of the earlier expansions of eve added so much. Rubicon is basically a patch. Other games have patches to expansions that add minor content just as rubicon is doing but they dont call it an expansion.

My worry here is the direction CCP will take eve as well. They clearly have stated they wish to spread new features, content, and additions over multiple expansions while at the same time fixing already existing issues. If this is an example of future expansions then in all honesty...don't call it an expansion because it isn't.

Now...I am not saying fixing things and adjusting the game to optimize some mechanics shouldn't be exciting, but to say it is an exciting expansion is not really a true statement. If you were to say it is an exciting patch...then yeah. Even so, there really isn't a lot of things in the upcoming patch that excites me. Perhaps the sites and soe ships...that really is it. Everything else is just filler content to make us feel like we are getting something nice...and yes I realize the patch in of itself is free but so are most other patches to expansions in other games.

In what way does Rubicon a become a good expansion for newer and casual players.

What does Rubicon bring that you can't already do now?

You say wont need to go to station, how long do think it will take players to start scanning down the mobile depots?

How many times are you going to use them after they have been popped?

There is Rubicon that you can't already do now.

the meta 3 mobile depots are practically impossible to scan down, currently.

and anyway, if you beat the scanner to it, refit and then either scoop it (not sure how long that takes) or wait until it gets reinforced then it's served its purpose.

and if you're handy and think you can take them, use it as bait. you're no longer taking a knife to a gun fight, you've got a swiss army knife.. a T3 can hold a fair amount of different offensive modules, you could refit with a couple of webs and then HAM their face off.
