Why do mercs charge 500m for wardecs that cost them 50m?

Problem with a target? Everyone charging to high, they want all your base and mission fit mach to buy them in for a week? The answer... Pod Repo, we charge you the base war cost of the war and request intel on the said targets you wish dead. But do they actually invest their time to do anything for your sake? Or do they just continue on with business as usual, except with more WTs to shoot at?

As I said I will pay mercs more than 500m if bring a fleet to the staging system of the targets. Paying mercs 500m to do nothing different though is silly.

I think the best way I can both counter your 'whoring on other mercs' horseshit and call you guys out as the ultimate whores is to just leave this here. Whoring on your own guys losses standard marmite practice Tora? Classy!

Obligatory 'LOL Highsec' and 'you're all terrible' post.

Paying people to pew other highsec dwelling publords is pretty weak, do it yourself, or stop getting mad about highsec space drama (I mean- you live in highsec, what drama can you possibly have).

I did an experiment a few months ago, and hired a bunch of people to dec a random alliance for funsies, 6 alliances (Tora and Devils both declined) managed to kill a poorly fitted Megathron and a Nemesis, while losing several Vigilants, HACs, and other interestingly fit ships most people don't see the merit in using (i.e. Ashimmu, lolWorm, Pre-Buff Eagle).

Usually, the people you hire don't even get kills equivalent to that which you paid them or even bother to run locates/evewho the target you hired them against (saying locator fees are a reason for price increase is absolutely laughable, seriously, stop being poors).

In the HS merc world, there's 3 types of mercs.

1. Trade denial mercs.
They are often found on pipelines to tradehubs to which they deny their wartargets the use of major tradehubs on their mains.
These guys also usually got a massive amount of decs.

2. The hunters.
As for hunters they run locators on your wartargets, and hunt them when they get a locate or a neutral scout verifying that person is in space, thus having to catch the target and kill it.
These guys often got a low amount of decs, and adds their wartargets to their watchlist.

3. The 'i pvp so therefore i'm good enough to merc'.
They are 9/10 times terribads that have no idea how to fit, or setup a doctrine for small gangs, and end up dieing in a fire if they get resistance and won't do anything because they can't defend you.

However these 3 types got 1 thing in common, they all place a wardec on your target.
This cripples them.

If you want a week of terror, you might want to hire nr 1. because they are going to deny your contractees station trading, to the point where they discover alts.

After that i'd suggest you to go with nr 2. because those guys run locates all day long (if they're decent anyway) and will run locators on the guys you want dead, when they login and with a decent timespan inbetween (depending on the spread) also place neutrals in system.
These are also the guys that you'll find that'll go 30+ jumps to come help you out if you're in trouble, easier because they're used to going in small gangs.

As for nr 3. generally asks for close to no isk because they're new to the business or ask for too much.
However comparing these guys to the other two groups, they're just not worth contacting as they will most likely not come defend your pos or you, because they simply can't.


As for us (EveryoneVersusEveryone.com) we're purposely not taking contracts, or demanding isk for helping someone in a war or dec someone, as we don't want to bind ourselves to the commitment of having to do X, Y and Z when we want to do A, B and C.

In culo's terms pod repo is in the number two category of merc but we've been in business for a long time and we are still only asking for the Dec costs.

I decline many requests. For example if they are against our blue or grey standing friends, our suppliers, people we just like, certain Pos jobs or when we just have to many jobs already (they get refered to our fellow merc corps/alliances)......

Marmites is a mix of type 1 (70%) and 2 (30%).

Actually I wasn't chest beating Tora, I was responding to Donalee calling us (only) forum warriors by linking one of our losses, and Heather Tsukaya saying we don't field fleets. Linking our overall killboard in that context wasn't chest beating, it was just refuting their claims on overall capability of our merry band.

Also, it was you that decided to get defensive about my post where I hadn't called out Marmite at all. I can only guess its the 77% efficiency against Marmite on our KB that got you butthurt, and thus your rationalizations of us 'whoring' that followed. My reply to that claim stands as 'we can kill Marmites just fine without help', (It was added win that in said kill your own dude was caught whoring on his buddy's loss. Funny!)

And honestly, my original post was actually gently poking fun at both Donalee AND Domineren for starting an epeen measuring contest in the first place....but my humor was too subtle I guess.
