I would have suspected you all to have upgraded to Magic if you had found your way EVE.

I am not knocking Pokeman as a card game, I am sure the mechanics are sound, all I know is that it came out after Magic The Gathering and when I was well into high school, so it always struck me as a more...... I hate to even say it so I will candy coat it a little..... youthful. Maybe that was due to the cartoon as the cards were never particuallry 'youtfull' when I saw them in play.

I don't do the TCG, mate. Just the 3DS game. If I had to pick a TCG to get sucked into it would be Magic.

I'm sorry to whoever had the hostage, but I may have just sawed them in half.

Im 2 pages in...and I still have no clue what....huh.

Ok..I googled it. On my second google attempt.

I originally spelled it pokeymon...which only seemed to come up with some disturbing Jamaican **** site..... 1/10 would not recommend.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Well, I always wanted to try magic. Should I bother going digital? Not sure if I want to go physical cards and buy "booster packs."

On topic... Beaten elite four. Caught half of total natures of them dittos... Then soon incest breeding :D not sure if I can wait until December for the online storage....

I saw an advertisement once for digital MtG and it seemed like a rip off. That being said I came from the MtG days where some of the cards were worth hundreds of dollars so the digital aspect destroyed the sense of rarity and collect-ability so I never even gave it a second glance.

Never initially bothered with pokemon much because it was mostly zelda on GBA, DS and the like but yeah, i played it... too grindy and complex at the time.

Then i found Touhoumon, and this.

Not doing a nuzlocke though.. still learning about mon types & attack effectiveness, stats, etc.

Complex? hm... It is when you are in a competitive mood ... But its rather easy game this time around...

I did play every single pokemon game that came out for the gameboy/ds line, and I can tell you in my experience that pokemon X/Y is really new user friendly and easy to play. Game Freak (company that makes pokemon) exceeded my expectations, beyond what they did with pokemon white/black series. They also made competitive mechanics easier for those that want to compete. Only thing I hate about x/y is that you are forced to capture the main legendary pokemon rather than capture it later in order to progress the story. Its not even grindy and you'll be about lvl 60s+ easily before you fight elite four thanks to the new exp share mechanics.

Really? Hum, there is few "versions" it seems from steam.. 2012 edition here , 2013 here, and finally 2014 here ... Bit confusing, wonder if its all linked rather than seperate "game".

They are different games. You can get them on PS3, Xbox and iPad as well. They are a lot of fun if you like Magic, but there is not a lot of deck building in them, you can customize them decks you stuck with a static deck that you change.

You can play A.I. in a campaign and as you win you unlock more cards for your deck as well as new decks, there is multiplayer which can be fun. I really like the games :-)

I am a proud supporter of the LAGL permit holders.
