OP add me as contact and convo me when u see me log in. I will offer you some advice and tips and if you need isk to get back on your feet I could possibly assist.

Not all pilots are idiots - like everything in life there's good and bad. We do have a good community on the whole. EVE does need to retain its new players and CCP recognised this and are active in doing so.

Speak soon:-D

Ok.. so you made a stupid mistake and now the game is flawed.. or other people or something, right?
Stories like these thoroughly amuse me.

We're well aware that you are a raging fountain of butt-hurt with an inflated sense of self-importance.
No need to stipulate that here, go make everyone pay like a good boy.

To the OP, do not give up.

I am so bad at Eve it is (sad) funny, but I still really enjoy myself.

Try to only lose whatever isk you make in the game rather than rl money then it will not feel so bad.

This is not a signature.

It sucks to be scammed. OTOH it is a cheap lesson learned. To get another 300 odd million ISK is not to hard. You are able to run the starter missions 2 or 3 times for each faction. Do that and you will earn most of the lost ISK back quickly.

"An Eye for an Eye Will Make the Whole World Blind."

It's just finding the right people to be around. When I started playing two years ago as a noob, I used to go to Motsu and ask in local for salvage and most of the time, they brought me into their mission fleets and before you know it I was making 50-100 mil a day and was offered to join a corp and grind missions with them as my skills improved. They were really nice people. I mostly learn this game on my own through trial and error learning through my mistakes, not being bitter, not complaing, not asking too many questions and it worked well for me.

Probably didn't even think to ask as the distinction between copies and originals only became apparent to him after he made the mistake.

Still... the only situation in which asking how to get your money back is deemed acceptable is when you just lost a super (in that case feel free to pester GMs with whatever story you made up).

In any other case the inevitable answer to someone asking for his money back is "go back to WOW"

Which is pretty poor and we should try and assist and help new players.

I think people think they being tres chic saying things like " wow over there"..... Come on guys let's work together in helping our new players - in a few months you can use them to pad your killboards if nothing else.

This guy gets it :-).

To OP: the Info on the contract, for the contracted item, if it's a BPC will tell you it's a BPC and it will even say how many runs are on it.

You said you'd done your homework, but you really didn't.

And you have the one-run BPC for a very decent ship that will sell at a decent price.

You need a thick skin and some decent situational awareness to move forward in this place.

I'll give you one thing though: it really isn't all that easy to understand all the subtleties of the various systems if you're not familiar with them. EVE is a place where the cartoon for the learning curve itself is a cultural reference. And with good reason.

1. Build the boat

2. Sell the boat

3. Fit your fleet

4. Go forth and make merry

5. Any business in Jita that looks too good to be true, -is- too good to be true. Saying there are scammers in Jita is like saying rain is wet.

All swords in EvE cut both ways.

That rule alone is why a lot of people are here. I almost quit at 2-3 months. I'm glad I didn't. I didn't know thing one about the game in my first year...

OP has been playing MMOs since the age of ten.
I've only ever played EvE, but as an internet tough-guy i'd just like to drop that being homeless for a while in my 20s was real good prep for internet spaceships. You develop intuition, the quality needed for making decisions without data. Still got scammed and jumped as a newb, but also managed to meet some top chaps and ripping sports.
The desire to help the new or poor is everywhere in EvE, but the way the game works any structured effort is ripe for ripoff.

If not a troll, OP really should do all the tutorials, career agents and the soe L1 arc. Keep the will to meet people.

I'd prefer to see a little more visual distinction between BPOs and BPCs than different shades of blue. Perhaps Blue for BPOs and green for copies. Then newer entrants in the BPO/BPC market would have a better visual clue that what they're buying on contract is not the same as what someone is offering a lot of ISK to buy.
