Awesome changes.

On the same note as the "activate acceleration gate" change, is there any chance of jump queuing with stargates upon exiting warp? For example, it's common for pilots to start hammering on the "jump" button as soon as they start coming out of warp on top of an acceleration gate when warping to zero, only to receive an error message along the lines of "You cannot do that while warping." Due to occasional delays in server/client synch, it sometimes even takes a couple of seconds after the "warp drive active" message disappears before you jump. It would be nice to just have to click the jump button once, and have the jump operation queue up to execute automatically as soon as your ship leaves warp, similarly to the way autopilot will ensure you automatically jump if you're in range of the gate.

Also, having to reselect an item from the overview to reenable the command buttons is quite irritating. For example, if you have a station selected in the overview and you are about to click on the "warp to zero" button, if you lose your ship before selecting the button you have to select something else in your overview and then reselect the station because the buttons deactivate when you enter your pod - this often adds a few extra seconds of delay which can spell the difference between getting podded or getting away safely. The interface shouldn't need to disable the active overview buttons just because you've lost your ship.

I've been watching this forum thread a little too diligently (I have work to do!) but I wanted to thank everybody for all the awesome comments, feedback and questions.

I also wanted to give a shout out to an un-sung hero of team papercuts: CCP Conrad.

The 4 people credited in this devblog are all programmers, who did code work, but for all the changes we cranked out, one single superhero had to QA every feature, about half a dozen times PER FEATURE.

Sadly, this message will get lost to many, since it's on page 17 of the thread, but if everybody could send some thanks towards CCP Conrad, that would be awesome.

Thanks guys!

I'm off to go... actually do my job. You guys have been great!
Good job people, good job. And a sincere and extra Thank You to CCP Conrad.

I'm glad that with this post I could turn things around for once. Normally we ask (a lot) and you respond and/or act, now you asked and I did a 'little thing' in response. No need to thank me, you're welcome......Blink

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Edit the devblog and add CCP Conrad's name to it. Anyone associated with Papercuts deserves credit. Great work.

For that matter all of the other CCP employees that have been showing us some great features over the last few weeks deserve some additional congratulations as well. I stared playing around on SISI and the game just feels 'new' again. I was disappointed playing on TQ afterwards. Can't wait until crucible arrives.

I was wondering if you did so positive changes can you take a look at the combat log and add filtering? I was always wondering if i could get specific messages on it rather then getting spammed with info that i don't need.

Hmm... Team Papercuts..

Ever thought about adding the options to have a button for capital ships.

Rorqual
- Ship Maintenance Bay
- Corporate Hangar
- Ore Bay

The button would be just like the "Open Carghold" button, only for other spots to stash sh*t at. It's rather annoying to have to right click, find the damn link, click it, and then go do what you wanted to do.

^ That would make all the carebears, and even some PvP'ers who use supers/titans for a station, very happy.

Double Post ftw.

I agree with this Dziu. More options with this would be nice, also changing systems/docking shouldn't remove all the information.

for the "auto-panning was broke so it's gone" thing was it the whole thing that was broke or just detecting *when* to pan? Could it just be a new button/menu option (next to 'look at,' have 'look towards') instead of auto? While I didn't use the auto-pan often (as it generally only worked when I *wasn't* trying to look at things) I always wished it were more predictable as it was a nice way to sort out just where specific things had gone to (rather than having to pan the camera around myself hunting for the right little icon at the screen edge).

Great stuff though, especially drag-select.

EDIT: Definitely update the blog/1st post to credit Conrad... QA is already a horribly underappreciated job, let's give the man his due! Big smile

First up is a convenience feature for Corp CEOs and Directors. Previously, you had to be in station in order to use the ‘Unrent Office’ button found on the Corp Hangar window. You will now find that you have the option to unrent offices remotely via a right click menu in the corporation details tab.

Even better than letting those with the "Rent office" role unrent them, the absence of which I'd often cursed. Thanks

Drone enhancements are awesome.

If you have any more time, and want some low hanging fruit- take a look at the in-game petition read/respond window. Why is the read window fixed width? Why is the response window modal? (Ever been responding to a petition and had a corpmate call for help?)

As a QA guy myself it's not lost on me.

CCP Conrad. Awesome job. I know what it's like to do crunch time QA testing. From the look of it, you've helped these devs look like eve rock stars. You definitively deserve some of the thank you beers headed your teams way at the next fanfest. (or if you are like many other QA folks I know, you prefer scotch over beer)

This sounds very cool. I have to deal with the same issue often enough.

However, sadly, as we have mentioned in this thread several times, we are only loaners. We're swooping in, making small fixes, enjoying tons of credit and player-praise, and running back to other CCP projects.

You should head to the Ideas Forum and post your requests there. I know that MANY of the items we worked on were harvested from the forums by Team BFF.

We have greatly enjoyed stealing their thunder, but a lot of the credit still goes to them. They assembled the list of things we fixed.

Sorry Chicken Pizza, Papercuts members are not trying to ignore you, but the team is basically "done" with the list we set out to accomplish. Anything else we do is just trying to make sure that the items on our list are polished, working, and not breaking something else.

As for item 3 in your list: Have you tried changing your drone setting, and activating "Focus fire"? I also hot-key the drone command "Engage Target" and keep pushing it until it works. Not the "best" solution but it serves.

The other 3 entries are basically new features, and we won't be around to work on them, sorry.

Cry This is saddening indeed. I usually always have focus fire on, actually. I was hoping there may have been some small fix that could have gone into it, as spamming the hotkey is...well, it's a hassle! I can live without the other suggestions I made, but that one is my absolute biggest pet peeve in this entire game. It makes ordering drones around a very slow and tricky process.

Thank you for the response, though. Problem solved or not, that's all I really needed from you in particular. Smile

Now, to get the other dev teams to practice the same good work ethics that this team practices...

It's not that we don't care or that we're ignoring any of the multitude of new feature requests in this thread. It's that this team just can't address them as we're quite literally out of time. We're finished with any new Eve feature work, and are going back to WoD full time once Crucible ships and it's clear we didn't totally break the game.

If you want to ensure they're being accounted for, try posting in this thread. Soundwave and Team BFF should be able to help get that taken care of moving forward. After all.... they were original papercuts team before we stole their thunder. Big smile

Understandable. Sorry, I was tired and grumpy last night and felt slightly neglected because it's such a glaring issue. You guys have done some great work and deserve all the praise you get.

We didn't mean to ignore you, but we're past the point in the development cycle where we're allowed to add any new functionality. We're pretty much looking for posts requiring clarification or that have spotted bugs in the things we've already done.

Please, please, please make sure that you post your feature requests in the relevant feature request threads so we may have a chance to get to them in the future :)

Trust me, you're not being ignored. I have literally read every single post in this thread.

Oh come on, now you're all making me feel bad! XD

I'll go raid the feature threads tonight after work. Sorry for the outburst!

The attention to detail evident since Hilmar's love letter has been refreshing... nay heartening - bordering on the joyful. With all of the goodness and love FiS is getting, I don't know how much more I can take.

If crucible deploys, and window positions aren't jacked, overview isn't bunked, station window stays where I put it, that will be the last straw. I will defecate in my britches and revel in its warmth.

I mean you still have a boatload to fix/tweak/improve, but you're making headway, and more importantly, it now looks like CCP gives a darn... It warms my sub-cockle region.

I absolutely love this but have one important question.

Does the anomaly despawn affect anomalies that have been ran in w-space?

This affects me as I will be able to sit cloaked in my ambush spot in an anomaly, whilst waiting for a lovely Noctis to appear without worrying that they will know I am there because the anomaly has not despawned yet.

And am REALLY looking forward this Expansion!
