The NOS is so you can run the reppers longer on your drones (same for energy transfer when using more than one ship).

Pretty cool idea, the common jackasses would use another Drone Link and have fun shooting all the stuff while out of the rats range.

without rat specific armor hardeners you will get spanked however. i tried doing the guristas route of world's collide (after finsihing the serpentis route) without the second kinetic hardener and wow... had to leave. and that was at 80km.

Guristas and Mordus are most likely the only stuff that may bring you in trouble beside towers with that setup but always keep in mind, you can aggro with the drones...they take far less or nearly no damage from those missile spammers. If you do this semiafk maybe take a look at faction sentries, less range and damage so usually T2s are the way to got but they have insane Shield and Armor.

A NOS on a mission ship used to be for extra cap. Let a non-scramming frigate or cruiser get into orbit and stick the NOS on it, or on whatever other ship gets into range. More cap for you.

Yes, but for what? That's the question in the end, if you need extra cap - either from Cap Boosters or NOS - on a mission ship somethings wrong.

The NOS on my Legion allows me to fly an unstable fit and still be stable. If I didn't use it I'd have to downgrade the fit to be stable. The idea that "if you have to use a nos to be stable your fit needs fixing" is blatantly false. My fit is sweet cus I have extra power from my enemy, it's not broken it works amazingly.

Not really.

I know people who run a very high cap drain in missions, just cause that means they can rush them quicker.

If you do the cap stable way, you are limiting yourself, one way or another.

Just as a side note, the other day i was taking a newby on a LvL4 to demonstrate how tactics can keep anyone alive. We were just killing the accel gate guards and i decided to leave the last cruiser to the newby. I was only Nos-ing the cruiser to refill my cap, no webs or dps from me. The newby was happily killing it and was 2 thirds thru armour when i decided to leave him to it and go check out the next room. 2 mins after i jumped the newby came on comms and said the cruiser had refilled to half shields and he was definitely no longer capable of killing it.

My Nos was effecting the rat so much that it made the difference between the newby easily killing it, and the rat easily tanking him. I know this isn't new info, but the effect on enemies reppers is quite a lot from my experience.

Blunt constructive criticism always welcome. I didn't realize the Rattlesnake would be so expensive and I don't want to become a trophy target until I can defend myself -- and have enough isk to not hurt if I lose it. A T1 BS goal sounds like a better idea.

I'm currently running an artillery hurricane in lvl 2 missions and was shocked at how much easier the BC made them. I used the 'newbieSkillPlan' for EveMon and have focused on T2 shields, T2 drones, and fitting skills.

I'm trying to look down the line and get an idea of where I want to end up. I like making things pop with my guns, but I'm not sure I like speed tanking with Minmatar, and they don't seem to currently have any of the top rated PvE BS's. If I'm going to make a faction change I'm thinking it's better to switch to a different cruiser/BC sooner than later.

That is mainly because L2 missions are designed to be done in a cruiser.

You are in a cane. Why not spend a bit of time and go Maelstrom for L4?

It's not the best PVE T1 but it gets the job done and you will be saving loads of RL time to start your next project.

What?As far as I know, the Mach is still considered PvE king and it's as close to a Minmatar ship as you can get in a Pirate vessel.

And the Typhoon Fleet Issue has the highest theoretical dps of all BS. (Granted, people snob it because it's difficult to truly apply that dps in a real fight, it's a missile boat and it has a somewhat weak tank, but it still has its fans.)
