Not much difference for me as fleet fights are done zoomed out for me. The fight became easier to view when Time Dilation kicked in.

Total Memory before Poitot jump: about ~600Mb
Total Memory after Poitot jump: ~1,100Mb

FPS went down to below 5fps during the fight, but CPU performance was around 45~55% and was really impressive. Some of my clients was just peaking near 50% utilization, and only the target caller (assigned sentries) peaked up to 95%~100% CPU.

Working set size is 818Mb on the target caller, and 764~706Mb on the others.

Oh so that was what I saw while zooming out on my ship, the muddied colors/textures definitely caught my attention at low settings. I just tested it again and it starts at 11 zoom buttons out, then at 22 and then it stays the same after that. So.. three levels? Maybe increase the second one to around 22 and the third to 30.

The effect is also present in the fitting window, and I can see only 2 levels which seems to start at 4 mousewheels out. And it looks like the feature is missing in both the ship hangar view and the captains quarters mode.

[i] Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:

The usual module lag and overview lag is there, even as I was zoomed out and away from the fray.

There was this thing I stumbled upon though, with a Survey Scanner for asteroids. When pressing CTRL on the keyboard, I can lock objects from the overview, fleet broadcast history and the Survey scanner results. While pressing X on the keyboard, I can broadcast targets from the overview, the fleet broadcast history, but not on the survey scanner results? I tested this a couple of times, and it seems the X broadcast key is broken for the survey scanner results window.

OK rather than dual client this time , dual boxed it , now can any one explain to me why a 6 year old machine running 32Bit Vista OS, 4GB ram , 512MB video Ram out performs a 3 month old 64 bit 8GB ram , windows 8 machine with a 1GB graphis card?

Cant dual client the windows 8 box at all its horrible :(

Sat in station spinning Vista is making 60 FPS, Windows 8 is doing 20 FPS.

Much smoother than last time, annoying gate jump anmination got frozen, jumping through to Poirot sat there for 5 minutes wandering if I had arrived in system as could see warp scram messages but still had gate animation, once I started taking damage I kind of guessed I must have arrived..

  • Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:

  • The space scene took a long time to load whenever I entered a new area, either from a gate jump or just warping to another grid. The main example: I never saw the POS force field. The POS was destroyed before it loaded. Also it took a looonnnggg time for my ship to appear.

Running the test: better fleet formation is needed. Use adverts or something.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.: My client crashed while I was attacking the the tower, I attempted to log back in, however my launcher froze as well. 5 hours later I was able to get my launcher to launch the game.

The game was a bit laggy (large fleet), Slow frame rates while we were at the X-B gate (during warp) reduced playability.

We added texture LODing to reduce the client memory, textures loading when zooming in and out can be delayed in heavy scenes. Did you feel this degraded the visual experience? Not noticed because of overall lagging!

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc.:
No major problems with all 7 clients! After the first jump again some ships from my clients are about 1 Mill. km from the Gate/cyno-suppliers away but no crashes. FPS changed plus minus 5 while changing brackets.
Overall the performance was ok - but if there are more capitals and bubbles than it will be difficult!
There is still a lot of space for performance improvement from server side!
