Two reasons, the leftovers of CCP's original bootstrapping the economy and regression of value theorem, two things of which you are ignorant, apparently.

Thank you, your constructive attitude is noted.

Of course your reply takes into account the "bootstrapping" signifiance of blue loot and how it's diligent regression of value theorem application that in the beginning let minerals cost with ratios of powers of two right? Roll

A tippia? WTF does that mean?

A simple EvE search would have more than replied to the question.

"greed and fear", part of value judgements, part of human action, part of supply and demand, your ignorance is exposed.

I make a living judging the various components of a market, it certainly means I know nada about it.
I don't put all in a "supply and demand" cauldron, because there's a lot more money to be made by splitting the components away and analyzing them.

Adunh Slavy wrote:

If they consider that wealth, then the original axiom is still valid. So you basically said nothing, except make an assertion that "the majority" wants PLEX more than anything else. Feel free to prove it, if you can.

That's not your original axiom but a reply to my statement which now you are saying it's been true twice.

As for PLEX playing an utterly major role for the players in this game, well, just look what happens when stuff happens to it. Notice the name of THIS thread? It's certainly because it matters a ton. It matters enough that it's the single CCP directly manipulated market.

Yes, anecdotal apples vs oranges evidence is dismissed, as is proper. If you don't like it, too bad.

Of course you dismiss when you grossly mistake a PvP game for WoW and are told so.

Do you even know what regresion of value is?

So now you are on record for just making things up. *snip*

Your antagonistic and rude replies define you.

Since I am not going to come down in a boxing match at that level, I bid you a good night and let the other readers make their own opinion.

If you don't like being called a liar, don't lie. If you don't like your logical errors pointed out, don't make the errors. If you get snotty, and someone gets snotty back, don't whine and moan about someone being rude, makes you look like a hypocrite. Oops, too late.

Cry more.

First thought:
If you nerf "isk faucets" by half and PLEX prices (and the whole economy) drops in half as a result, which is what it seems some think would be an improvement, that does not mean that PLEX just got cheaper by half. Unless you saved up a ton of isk and will be depleting this reserve, you will still need to spend the same amount of time to get enough isk to get PLEX as before the nerf of "isk faucets." Price of stuff drops in half but you make half as much per hour. What changed? Nothing. It is all relative.

Second thought:
If "isk faucets" generate trillions in isk day after day after day why are prices of things that are easy to get stable or going down? It is not just that it is a lot of isk being generated but this isk adds up day after day after day after being transferred from one player to another without sufficient "isk sinks" as it is claimed. Should not we have hyperinflation then?

Help me out and set me on the right track. How can all this be and prices are stable or decreasing. Prices of minerals, ships, decryptors, salvage parts, tech 2 and tech 1 mods, etc. There are some things going up in price either due to out of game reasons, like PLEX, or due to various game changes, like cost of making some tech 2 components. But manipulation or interference through game changes does not make inflation. Set me on the right track please.

Personally I think that the market is bifurcated. Things that can be done AFK are in permanent deflation, and things that are complicated/dangerous, that require human action to make, are in inflation.

The only one getting all incensed and full of hate is you.

Calling "Backside, liar, hypocrite, dishonest debtors (I guess I offer 80B+ loans due to those huge debts! Roll), bull **** (circumventing insults dictionary)" is all a nice byproduct of your education.

Yes, you spoke out your backside, Sophistry if you prefer.
Liar, yes, you purposefully ignored the same axiom, twice.

When you commit errors, and continue to commit them, you're not an honest debator.

Deal with it.

Arguing like this reflects badly on both of you. I know each of you thinks you're making the other look bad, but the reality is only you two are reading the posts everyone else is "yawn.. skip to next post". If you want to keep this crap up take it private.

So, the big news in New Eden today is that CCP have put their foot down and banned the giving of ingame isk or items in exchange for purchasing GTCs. A significant proportion of the GTCs being purchased have previously been done so through SomerBlink's notorious affiliate link, which paid out a bonus 200mil isk to anyone making a purchase. Since this effectively provided a subsidy to PLEX sellers should we now expect to see PLEX prices rise either as sellers look to get that isk from the market instead of Somer or as the supply of PLEXes shrinks from fewer people choosing to buy GTCs without the extra isk incentive?

*Disclaimer - I am a PLEX consumer not a PLEX trader or speculator.

Thank you for the news, although, to little to late, perhaps there is a plan on CCP's behalf regarding falling subs and rising PLEX prices.

as usual, when CCP comes out with big news there is more then meets the eye.
