It's such a meme around here, but has anyone ever actually quit eve and really gave stuff away to the next group or the first person to ask? Has that legit happened ever?

Twice I has received stuff from a QQ thread.

I currently also house the stuff of 15 people who claim they may come back someday, so they are using my stuff storage program.

Also, UaE has perma-dibs on all stuffs, pretty sure that's in a sticky somewhere.


Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I received a Paladin, 3b, and a couple of POSes during a ragequit.

Not sure if it counts, though.

The guy was quitting because I had taken all his shares in his corp.

I'm sad though. Cry

He never answered when I asked if I could have his stuff.

And he has never been back online.

That's a different thread: I have your stuff.

Guy i flew with for about a year used to get extremely mad when people asploded him. He also really only thought he should asplode people who deserved it. I explained to him that every single pilot in New Eden deserved it.

Saw him pop up on watch list a few times over a year, then got a bunch of contracts and a mail "I'm leaving EVE for good, m8."
The ships rigs skillbooks minerals ammo mods subsystems and staggering wealth were very pleasant to add to my own, i can assure you.

Sadly it happens all the time in the bonus round. But the whole community benefits from others' lack of faith.. For instance, a few months ago James 315 was presented with a thanatos. Other assets are currently being used in a crusade against bot aspirant miners hiding out in Provi, which you can read about in the "Call to Arms" thread in Crime & Punishment.

Even TEST's logistics assets from when they quit holding SOV are being used in the above crusade.

So as you can see, sometimes when a player or even whole alliance quits, the majority of the community often benefits.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

When I quit, I put everything into a can in space. Then shoot it infront of the poor people.

1.2 bill in ISK from a, like, 4 day old newb whom I had only seen in newb corp chat a couple of times and who I guess figured the game wasn't for him.

I decided to petition it to be on the safe side and got the green light from... Peligro I think it was.

Yup got some fancy stuff and some standard stuff once when someone quitted here and a handful of bpo's from a stranger. 'Why?' I asked. 'Just because', was the answer. :o

I gave away some stuff when I've realized that SkillQueue Offline is all I play.
