Sick of looking at a manned mining barge with it's back pointing to an ore site?
Over seeing wrecks on scan but the Tengu in POS?
Ship hardeners active, but never coming out?

Post your missed kills due to the Discovery Scanner here so we can all bask in the wonderfulness that is Odyssey Scanning "Improvements"!

Missed a Hulk. It's been like a year since I've seen a Hulk, let alone one out of POS. Not that this one was, he just came from an ore site and I got to watch him swap to a scan boat instead.

Yay...

You didn't miss a kill due to discovery scanner, you missed a kill due to them paying attention.

Before Odyssey, you needed a probe launcher to see new signatures. I think he's referring to that.

The fact that it has gotten a bit too easy to pay attention nowadays is what we are complaining about.. Back in the days we had to pull some effords to stay safe in ultra-hostile w-space and we were happy with it.. Now it's hardly different from having a local chat.. But I kinda feel w-space is a little bit abandoned by ccp anyways, I mean.. we don't even have decent jump animations, nor modernized background graphics..

Hearing that from one who is 16 vs 5 on Battleclinic and 1600+ likes seriously calms me down^^

Before this change, you had to put out probes to scan down a grav site to find the miner. If he was paying attention he would see your probes and GTFO before you got there.

Nothing has changed. Someone who's paying attention won't get caught. Someone who's not paying attention will. The only difference now is that you need to check/uncheck the "show anomalies" check box to refresh the list every so often instead of hitting scan on dscan.

And who uses battleclinic? It hasn't updated my API in over a year (not that I am very impressive otherwise).

Either way I will gladly bow to your 173/106 epeen.

Battleclinic it totally fail as an indication of anything and judging people who obviously have multiple characters on the merit of one known character is almost as fail.

There is a difference, the old system required you to do something to protect yourself, the new one doesn't.

Old system, yes people, including myself, protected themselves with probe coverage to catch new sigs. But that was good, it was ME protecting myself and and fails were on MY head because I screwed up and got distracted or didn't scan enough or just plain got lazy.

New system, CCP gives you protection, just like local does in Null. New person in local, better dock up. New sig on scanner, better POS up. same thing. There's no player involvement in actively protecting themselves any more, just reaction to CCP TELLING them there's a potential threat.

I didn't miss the Hulk because he protected himself, I missed it because CCP told him to head back to POS and he did so.

Except that he still has to check the anomalies check box to refresh the list. In the old system he would've been hitting dscan and would've seen probes.

Site runners are harder to catch. Miners aren't.

The only change is logging in one less alt. You kill the ones who are afk or naïve, just like before, and won't kill the ones who are on the ball, also just like before.

You ***** like hiseccers.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Mate, I'm not going to bother trying to explain to you anymore. You clearly don't get it and its because you don't play like this. EVERY solo W-Spacer I've talked to feels like this. PERIOD. If you don't like what I'm saying, click the red X in the top right corner and go about your business.

if you mine in wormhole space you have already lost. Then again I think this argument also applies to known space.

Somebody has to do it. Retards are an integral part of a flourishing society, nothing wrong with them.
