It's Moros, you pathetic meatbag P Not some kind of weird name made to rhythm with "oh noes here are the Moroes!"Evil

First saw you type that on an internal defect, and I let it slip because we're team buddies, but I cannot let this pass a second time. Do it a third time and bad things are going to happen at the office.

This was a feature I was looking forward too ever since the fanfest presentation. However, after playing around with it a bit, I was disappointed. As a vet I could figure out whats going on with the tree fairly quickly, but it wasn't the easiest or most intuitive display of information to read. It's clunky and lacks both the smoothness and advanced looks that the prototype at fanfest displayed.

I think a new player (the prime demographic for this feature) will struggle to figure out whats going on and not use it too often.

Problems/solutions:

1) when I open the tree, I should be fully zoomed out so I can see the entire tree, and then allowed to zoom in. That gives the player a better sense of what they're looking at, rather than just focused on the frigs and having to move the tree around to get comfortable with it and see the progression. I also think I should be able to zoom.out farther than the current design allows for.

2) Add some color to the indicator of the charactor's 'level of ability' for each ship class. The blocks are kind of small and don't immediately stand out, and they blend together as well, so a bit of color based on what level you have would be beneficial.

3) I was a fan of the holographic ships when they were small models you could spin around and see up close at fanfest. But they don't work well when used as an icon. Even the (very small) enhancement that happens when you hover the mouse over them doesn't really show you the ship, its way too small. I think the normal color icons would work much better than the holographs, unless you went back to the way you had them at fanfest. Color for them would also help a little too if you decide to keep them as is.

Overall, I don't think this will really help players understand progression in its current state....it needs to become much cleaner and smoother in both presentation and information provided.

I do like the addition of it to the game though.

Also, I didn't like the popup window when hovered over a ship. It's pertinent information for sure, but it just clashes with the overall tree since you're using color icons for the popup window and holographs for the main page, plus it just clutters everything up.

I would add the information that's on the popup window to the main tree...so you would have say the icon of the ship to the left, with the icons for weapon systems and so forth to the immediate right of it, eliminating that popup window entirely.

I like the aesthetics of ISIS, and there's a lot of good information here, but I have two problems with it.

In this character's case, I have Transport Ships 1 trained, and level 5 mastery for the Occator, but I don't have Gallente Industrials trained to 5. It is gold, there is a line going up to it, and it looks like I can fly it according to this chart, but I can't. I understand you'd like it to be shown that "hey, you have mastery over this ship, go train for it" but it needs to be clear that you still need to actually train for it. Perhaps grey out the line, or the ship icons, but use a dull brown instead of the grey to show that you have mastery.

The other (minor) issue is the organization of the factions. Guristas being on the top row, away from the other pirate factions looks weird. Perhaps switch them with SoE, or perhaps make it three lines, Empire | ORE/SOE | Pirates.

Looking at a ship info, in the Mastery tab. Would it be possible to only show skills I'm lacking to get a level of mastery? Some ships require many different certificates and clicking on all of them and going through the list of a few dozen skills only to find the one I'm missing is kinda tedious.

I share the same opinion: showing the skills needed for a mastery ahead of / instead of / separately to the skills we have already trained for that level would be lovely!

DIC/HIC mastery levels don't appear to include ability to use bubbles
Level 5 mastery should include level of the ship for bonuses (ex. Machariel lvl 5 should require both Minmatar and Gallente BS 5)

Very nice update. Now it looks much more polished. I like the little white flash of the top/bottom border if you move to far to the sides.

No background and ship flypast anymore? Is that coming back or not or just a bug?

Also the ISIS UI scaling issue is still there.

Also, not sure who did the awesome new ship-viewer but would it be possible to get the full range of vertical camera motion instead of the restricted in-station range?

you can't drag ships from the ship tree to the compare tool. Even draging them from the show info doesn't work. In fact the only drag source which worked for me was the market window.

edit: daredevil has the wrong ship preview background. its the only ship which doesn't match with the others in the page.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

  • Strategic cruisers break the formatting
  • For tech three strategic cruisers, the "box" isn't big enough to show all the different options for these ships. It breaks, see this screenshot. The last few icons can't be hovered over, as leaving the frame of the box makes the whole box disappear.

  • Add subsystem skills for strategic cruisers?
  • I know that subsystems are technically not primary skill requirements, but secondary. But much like the other tech two ships show both skills directly influencing your efficiency of the hull (like Heavy Assault Cruisers showing both the Heavy Assault Cruiser skill as well as the Racial Cruiser skill), shouldn't strategic cruisers show the skill level of the subsystems as well?

  • ORE ships are more than shield tanked
  • Wouldn't it make sense to at least add the icons for Resource Harvesting and Hauling to the information box on ORE ships in general?

  • Daredevil isn't like the other Serpentis ships
  • The Vigilant and the Vindicator both appear as Gallente with the background in show info and preview window, whereas the Daredevil is Minmatar. Wouldn't it make more sense to peg the Daredevil as Gallente for some nice cohesion? :)

There is some inconsistency in how some information is displayed on ship levels.

Sometimes the format has the base skill on top and the specialized skill on bottom, such as:

    Gallente Frigate (5)
    Interceptors (4)

Other times this is reversed, such as:

    Recon Ships 4
    Gallente Cruisers 5

This leads to confusion as you have to hover over the indicator to see which level corresponds to which skill. This needs to be changed to be consistently displayed one way.

*and I still think that when you open the ship tree, it should be fully zoomed out so players understand what they're looking at from the start. New players will be confused when they open the tree and have to move around and zoom out to figure what they're looking at and how the progression happens.

I noted an inconsistency with the intended remake of the certification/prerequisite overhaul:

T1 'Logistic' Cruisers and their entry tiers of mastery.

Level one requires Remote Shield/Armor repair at level one, level two at two, etc.

Level one requires the same skills at level three, which is needed for repair drones.

This is confusing and contrary to the intended spirit of what you are trying to do, from my perspective.

Please oh please let me drag and drop ships from the ISIS ship browser directly into the Compare tool window.

Also, please enable drag and drop from information windows into the compare tool window.

This was one of the first things I tried to do, and sadly it failed. Instead I had to go to the market and drag and drop the ships/modules.

    Looks really good.

Now you just need a tree like this for weapons and mods.

Nah, Daredevil has been repainted to be Serpentis colored like Vindicator and Vigliant. It should have gotten a green background back then, tbh. I hope they fix the icon this time around.

ISIS looks very nice. Many thanks for this!

But is it possible to make the map more moveable and zoomable?
If you want to see the bottom lines and icons you have to close all the chat windows.

We've got A LOT of really good work done on the ISIS based on the feedback you guys provided. You should hopefully see most of it today (depending on where the Singularity client gets updated from).

    Till then keep it coming!

Good point, we'll ask around if that can be done.
