Feel free to tip my bounty. I ask my satisfied clients to do this, hence the bounty. As a bonus, you get notifications each time I lose a ship.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Bounties mean nothing, just an additional bit of isk on random kills, and bragging rights. No-one is going to specifically hunt you down for your bounty. If you happen to pass into their cross-hairs in a situation where they can blow you up, then they likely will. If you're flying an expensive ship at the time, then wow, they get a little bit more isk. Big deal. It's really nothing to get worried about.

When it comes to highsec ganking, that relies completely on what you're flying. If your flying something stupidly expensive, then you are a potential gank target, regardless of if you have a bounty or not. It won't factor into their decision to kill you, other than a little bit more isk at the end.

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

Come to think of it, I should probably side with the OP on this one kick up a huge stir so my bounty goes up.
I'm not even in the top 10 any more. Cry

Gave you a small boost. Will give you some more once funding has improved!

As for the OP, when I just checked, his bounty was 420,420 ISK. I tossed an extra mil on him, just for being a whiny bugger.

Can they be fried?

Only in Scotland

You can get them in Perth, Western Australia. Not sure about the rest of Australia though.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Bounties used to mean something. Then they changed. Now bounties are meaningless.

It used to be that you had to be a real ******* to get a bounty on your head. Now all you have to do it talk in local, undock, mine, mission, pass through a system silently, fart in your pod, pretty much anything including log in, and you get a bounty.

Pretty sure Ive gotten bounties from posting on the forums as well.

so, the main bullet point to take away from this is that bounties are useless.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Places in Bondi'll do deep-fried Mars-bars or icecream. A person in Texas, USA invented deep-fried beers.

OK, I have to disagree with the various people saying the OP is wrong and proclaiming they know for a fact that Bounties are meaningless, especially when a CCP GM posted this on 2012.12.04 @ 19:19

Hello everybody.

While we certainly the "entertainment value" that this game may provide to some players, please do keep in mind that certain regulations about griefing (eventually to the point of harassing) new players are still in place and that we will interpret bounties being placed on players that just started out on their way into New Eden as such.

This particular issue will be investigated closer and more details should become available soon (without TM).

Until then: just don't do it. You have been warned.

Use the bounty system responsibly and stay green to new players!

Granted it's directed towards people placing Bounties on new players but obviously there's been some backlash from the misuse and abuse of the current Bounty Mechanic that has caught CCP's attention.

I'm sure over time as more and more people complain and or drop out / quit this game because of the flawed Bounty Mechanic, CCP will take another look at it and more than likely make some changes once again.

Also the OP is correct, over time having a very high bounty on a character will make that character risky to use, regardless of what type of ship fit the character is in..

That assumes that over time, more and more people will complain about it or drop out, and there's really nothing to suggest anything of the kind.

No, he really isn't. The risk is entirely tied to the ship and the size of the bounty is pretty much irrelevant. A ship that's worth killing for the bounty is worth kililng without it, and the size of the character's bounty has no real impact on that. A 30bn bounty pays out just as much as a 30 million bounty unless the ship itself is worth killing simply for the loss it creates (never mind the loot it may drop).

I cheerfully shot a non-Code-compliant pos this morning in lowsec with a few New Order friends until it went into reinforcement. And I didn't even have to worry about losing all of my bounty...

...all thanks to the new bounty system. Thanks CCP!

it just doesn't though. you could have a trillion ISK bounty on you and your mission ship or exhumer loss is still going to pay out 40M only, if you're T2 fit.

if you've bling fitted it you're a target already. granted, the bounty is now making you an even juicier target but it's still just a bonus, really.

what spam bounties represent is basic annoyance/tedium. just the awful background noise of eve the mind has to filter because some people think that because they can do something they should.

Do bounties get paid on cargo value ?

.. there are some nuances in how that could relate to blockade runners flown without 100% attenntion.

The only really large bounties are on characters that never undock.

Not much point in discussing the issue.
