Distribution of Boosts to a Fleet

Alright, so after much forum trolling and looking for an answer, all I found was a bunch of locked threads and user frustration. Pirate

I am hoping to gain some clarity on the current situation with boost distribution to a fleet. At the moment, an FC5 character of mine will form the fleet (placed in squad command 1 with a squad command booster). From there I form four more squads, set free move, and assign more squad boosters.

After my wing is set up properly, I move my FC5 character to the wing command position so I can warp my wing about, and be a ship anchor for my members. I then invite my FC5 command ship alt into the fleet as the fleet commander with his respective booster assigned.

The issue is that the squad leaders, and members are the only ones receiving the fleet bonus' while my wing commander gets the shaft. Now, when your a wing commander, and anchor in a nano gang with skirmish links, and you are the only one not receiving boosts, it negates the point of even having boosts. It's causing my dudes to go slower by anchoring on my un-bonused ship. I have the option of just moving myself to a squad position and receive boosts, but then I lose the ability to warp my guys around in that wing. I have tried building the fleet from the ground up, and from the top down and still suffer from this problem.

I have read some of the rules, and the seemingly outdated wiki page CCP has on how fleet boosts work. I have also submitted some bug reports and gameplay petitions, but struggle to receive a tangible explanation, or way around this issue. Can anyone here help explain what I am doing wrong (if it is me), or how to avoid what could just be a long standing issue with fleet bonus'?

Thanks in advance

For that configuration, why not put the fleet booster in fleet and your anchor toon in wing?

Obviously you'd have to warp the booster around separately.

For multiple-wing fleets, obviously the problem would appear again i guess.

Currently that is what I am doing. I have my command ship as fleet commander, usually a tech 3 like a Loki boosting from a safe, and my anchoring toon in wing command. The problem is that I am not receiving boosts in the wing command position from the fleet leader, even though I have FC5 on both toons ^^

Oh, i thought you were assigning booster to the command ship who wasnt in a leadership position. I cant help you there, i wasnt aware of the problem. In fact if there is a problem it must be recent, in dual boosted fleets (fleet and wing) i often used the loki boosts in fleet to reduce the eccm requirements of my legion in wing to make it hard to probe (skirmish links reducing sig) thus making the legion fit a little more versatile.

Never had a problem with that, though not checked it out since the booster changes as for most purposes 1 booster fits all (apart from skirmish logi fleets, which i guess is what you are using)

Wing commanders don't get any bonuses from the fleet commander. This is a known bug and unfortunately won't be fixed any time soon.

the other answer is that you mentioned the fleet commander is in a safe spot. This no longer works the only thing that will now off grid boost is a industrial command ship and that only with mining links. It is now all on grid boosting only.

Incorrect, the only thing that has been changed (so far) is that the booster can't be in a POS.

Yeah, the wing booster only gets his own booster...why?
