Idea for low sec revamp

No one can be aggressed by more than

2 ships in 0.4
3 ships in 0.3
4 ships in 0.2
5 ships in 0.1

Think about possible situations and consequences and do comments please

needs work but can go places, i suppose

the problem is mining will still be impossible because rifters can kill hulks
mission running impossible because HACs can kill BSs and t3s

it would just make blob gate camps harder/impossible

Too difficult to enforce and prone to abuse. Let's say I want to be safe in .4 space. I'll have two frigates, each with two guns. They both attack me, and each other, and i set a small gun on each of them, or something harmless like a target painter/sensor dampener. Suddenly, none of us can be attacked.

Interesting idea, but try again.

And what will you do with the safe trio then? Anyway, very good point wich I am sure its not a stop to the initial idea but needs solution aswell.

Our safe team could then go run a level 5 mission, or cruise a freighter safely through a gate-camp... or any number of things. I also don't think there's any realistic way to counter this approach, if such a change were implemented.

But you will pay a "malus" by loosing 1 gun on each ship, plus NPC will attack you anyway.

Also fire from corp members or gang members should not be counted...

the frigates losing one or two guns each won't matter to them at all, the big thing they're shooting at is what will actually run the missions or whatever. As for the copr/gang member idea, you'd just use out of corp unfleeted alts.

This idea is unworkable.

I agree with the general motivation behind the suggestion, but this isn't the way to do it.

so.....pirates jsut have to spider "harmless" aggro devices or run an extra ship or 2 to be invulnerable?


3 ship setup. 2 ships tp each other, 3rd ship tp's both of them. that 3rd ship is designated non hitter. It won't shoot you, so if you shoot it.....you get gunned. And even better, you can't shoot the 2 pirates who are attacking, they are tp'd X 2.


Only bright side to this idea....man you madea niche for caldari ships. Got lots of mids lol. 2 scorpions on .4 gate, man.....the possibilites. fthey'd make 8 pirates untouchable (8 per scorpion, double up on same targets). Good luck killing them before those 8 untouchables kill you (actually those 8 plus the gate guns since you started the aggro on them...)

IMO This idea could actually somewhat work - although i agree it's probably not the right way to do it.

Just let me throw in some additional ideas though:
- This system would occur only at Stations and Gates (aka. where there are sentry guns)
- The aggro counter would need to be based onto the global aggression flagging. This means that a corpmate 'aggressing' you wouldn't count, as you can shoot each other in high security space, and a non-corped ship even TPing you would get shot down by sentries.
- Maybe a timed increasing limit? If the guys attacking you still are for, say, 1 minute, you can then be attacked by more and more people. This could give an opportunity for "good fights", while preventing invul buffs partly.

This wouldn't fix everything of course, but i believe it would fix quite a few of the possible issues.

Making pvp longer is generally a good thing and much wanted by most people I heard..
