Everyone else has closed down their bonus RMT and Somer has increased theirs to a billion.

A very community based site, CCP should be so happy they are 100% trustworthy Lol

5x-ing the amount of RMT you offer whilst laughing at the community which made you rich in the first place

trustworthy and honourable indeed

if you look at those logs i pasted, their customers know that the credit is isk, and that it's for them to cash out free ****. all the arguments that it isn't RMT fall flat on their face. Andrev Nox is even backdating GTC purchases and giving retroactive credit to fuel more sales. they really are acting shamelessly, because they have no fear of repercussions.

Not really. There's a reason this mess continued as long as it did before CCP took "action." Somer no doubt padded their revenue considerably. From a fiduciary perspective, that's a good thing. That revenue can then go on to projects like Dust, WoD, and maybe even a little goes to Eve or Valkyrie.

I mean there's the whole hipocrisy regarding rmt deal and pissing off a portion of your player base thing, but it really doesn't make them look like chumps.

You fail to understand what is going on here.

They are not 5x-ing the amount of RMT, as you put it; they are providing five times the previous incentive to do business with them, for the same amount of 'grey-RMT' The income they gain from each and every GTC they sell remains the same, regardless of the incentive they give out (unless and until their agreement with their GTC reseller changes).

The part to take away from this is while (to use the references in the first post) EVE-GAMES and Katarina Reid have stopped providing GTC incentives, organizations that continue to stay in the grey area until the midnight hour are rapidly losing their integrity regarding where in the heirarchy EVE comes in relation to themselves.

But since you cannot go home at night and feed the family integrity sandwiches, what good is it really?

they are 5xing the amount. instead of selling you 200mil isk, they're selling you 1bil.

as for that quip about integrity sandwiches, you sure got that one right.

apparently the owner of cogdev recently closed a deal on a $500k commercial space, and one of the last 'celebrations' featured Somer moving into her new house, so take that as you will when deciding where the money for that came from.

they've already RMTed a conservative estimate $135k but greed is good, so why not cash the **** out even more? lol

Yes but if they are feeding their families as you put it, then that just makes them guilty of a very black and white part of the EULA.

Oh I don't disagree with you one bit. CCP is in a very tight spot regarding this issue; the original intent (as I understand it) was to allow players to support their community, be it their corp, a fansite, or other entity, by buying GTC through them instead of directly from CCP.

It's the incentives that are the grey area here, as providing an incentive can be seen as anti-competitive.

Katarina was grey-hat about the issue; once the issue had been addressed the hat came off. Somer continuing to provide incentives is letting the community (and whomever gave them a community spotlight) know their colour might not be quite as white as at first glance.

simply idling in their channel woulda told you that a long time ago. they pretty much view the average eve player as cattle. if you go to their channel right now, it's like RMT central. they probably sold 100 GTCs since i logged in and Andrev Nox is even backdating orders and paying retroactive bonuses to fuel even more sales. it's clearly a cash out.

I agree the incentives are the problem but with Somer flogging a dead horse for cash, they are showing that they have nothing to do with the community other than trying to milk it dry for funds.

So they are really crossing the line from possible community gambling site to all out income-seeking site.

To be honest, most casinos share that view of their customers.

of course, but it really irks me when people call somer a 'community service' and 'trustworthy and honourable' and i see them literally laughing at and bashing the playerbase on a day by day basis.

'community service'? 'trustworthy and honourable'? yeah, about as much as a feudal lord is. they don't even try to mask their disdain for the common eve player.

Somer Blink is now going for the grab as much loot as possible before the deadline, and has really shown they are not a community site in any way shape or form.

They are a business that CCP has praised, while Somer has taken as much cash as it can from the players.

The fact is that being a Business is against the EULA, and Somer has shown it very much is a business, and is subsequently against the EULA.

So CCP have been made to look like chumps by calling a business that is there for a profit a community site, they have given this business in-game items because they are so good for the community and CCP has broken its own EULA for this business.

Sorry CCP look like chumps holding the bag at this point.

---

in case you're getting ready to delete these, ISD. don't worry. i've been screenshotting everything as well :)

looks like we got an answer. CCP approved of this RMT up and down the chain.

yet for some reason they threatened everyone else with bans. because using the same system Somer does is abuse... or something.

and apparently asking for fairness and equal enforcement of the EULA makes you a problem child and malicious.

Honestly, he's not wrong, except maybe about the last point. This whole mess started when CCP overplayed their hands with golden magnates and ishukone watch scorpions, that's when MANY people noticed it.

Also wouldn't give ISD a hard time, they're mainly just following instructions, and they did give us considerable latitude in the discussion, well some of them did anyway.

Andrev Nox just called me out in the channel lmao. he's been reading these threads the whole time, yet oddly enough, he hasn't come in to defend his shady RMT organization

[05:25:22] Andrev Nox > Also, everyone wave to Ace Boogi. He's in here biographing how evil and terrible we are, for the forum circlejerk squad.

[05:26:55] Andrev Nox > Happily for Ace, Blink is a horrific service that is universally hated and has never done anything good. So clearly no-one will be using it, and we'll suffer in our exhile.

[05:29:46] Andrev Nox > Shitpoasting NPC alts are my favorites. It's like when fox news cuts away to see twitter feeds from old people. You've got the main spergs serving as the talking heads, then the NPC guys filling in with the peanut gallery comments.

and yes, this is how he usually talks in there. dude is an arrogant prick. love the little quip about fox news too. this mouth breather acts like i'd expect him to.. ad hominems and logical fallacies gallore, especially through shills, instead of logical discourse when faced with scrutiny or debate.
