This is like CCP of 2010 during the non-documentation era to which they recovered but now seem to be going back to their bad habit. Come on CCP you made progress in communicating, DON'T GO BACKWARDS.

Swear down if there are kittens in my captains quarters I'm never boarding my ship ever again!

I know, right! Big smile

For those few people who were upset that there weren't actually any kittens included (we decided to keep them all in the office because they were so cute), I can offer another explanation.

When we put out tiny patches like this, they are of course documented internally, but if they're small back end fixes and optimizations that provide no change in gameplay then no patch notes are provided.

After hearing tales of how drunk CCP guys get during fan fest, I don't know if I want any of you guys working near my 'Bank End'...

But but but.... sometimes, backend optimization could even cause bugs that you might not be aware of yourself, and by letting the players know what you changed, we become more aware if something is suddenly "buggier" than normal

Except that one of your recent "no documentation needed" patches apparently broke the station hanger and item hanger stickyness, have to reopen after each login, yet again. And no - your persistent cache coherency failness doesn't appear to be the problem since a cache reset doesn't fix. Documenting at least a tad can help us help you when you've once again pointed the turret at the wrong body part.

Confirming. I logged in, this morning, patch applied... used the time to make a bagel. Logged on with no issues.
3 adorable Maine Coon kittens in my CQ. One was brown marble, one was brown tabby, and the other was a grey tabby "cape and hood" with white underbody. They are quite adorable, and look just like my girlfriend and I's IRL cats when they were kittens. Thanks, CCP.

Mind you, we patch several times a week. Most of the time it's never noticeable unless a mistake is made. Most often it's just tiny fixes and internal tooling improvements. If we put out patch-notes for that every time, you could get weeks with 3 patch-notes that just say "Internal changes and improvements".

And what would be wrong with that?

At least we would know that there's nothing for us to worry about.

Since they just stated that policy was to NOT document when there are internal changes, wouldn't one be able to deduce that if there are no patch notes that the changes are internal changes? Why waste time to satisfy a very small minorities OCD issues?

Entitled much?

I'm amazed at how tolerant CCP devs are towards people like you. It's their game, their code, their hardware... They don't owe you jack **** for explanation. Hth.

This. People around here assume that just because they pay for gametime they get to submit a list 10 miles long with demands on how the game devs should be treating them. **** off, you're not entitled to jack.

CCP, I think your patch might have broken FW "gate sliding" again....

It is like of old where people landing on a fw plex gate and activating it became invulnerable....

Just today it seems even worse in that in Innia today we're seeing ships land that we target and scram (with like 20 points of scram strength) applying DPS, only to then see them slide into the FW plex.

You definately broke something. Cheers.

CCP falcon... part of the stealth changes was to MJD's. MJD's now instantly decloak you when activated. This prevents players from performing the MJD-Cloak trick to navigate through hostile nullsec bubble camps (similar to MWD-cloak trick, but better).

This would absolutely constitute a "change in gameplay"!

p.s. I have a corp mate that lost their battleship attempting the maneuver, because of your undocumented "fixes and optimizations" that provide "no change in gameplay".

I believe by clicking play you accept the EULA. Somewhere in the EULA it says CCP can modify their software when they want to, with or without notification.

The fact that people accept EULA doesn't mean that they don't hope for CCP's good will to provide a little more than minimum.

Don't worry, CCP just never had an opportynity to learn that keeping their dealings shady is worse than even opely slap community in the face (insert any equivalent here).
~oh wait.

Again, though.... and I *KNOW* I have said this before.... they asked us to stop RMT'ing and botting. Have we? I rest my friggin case.

It should probably be noted:

Client side patches won't have anything to do with changes with gate sliding or cloaking changes with MJDs. Smile That's a server side change.

Ah well here my dear Stillman you are not quite accurate. I have a troubled client. Because of CCP's woeful support of Mac client issues I have to manually patch my system EVERYTIME you release a patch. When a patch is released I click patch notes. In the past two years, only two stealth patches (3 counting this one now) were released and each time there were many on the forums that complained, and CCP did the right thing and posted followup patch notes for those two patches with a brief statement like "There was nothing of importance, just DUST514 fixes, here are your patch notes" and all was good.

So no sir... we do not get 3 patch-notes every (unstated interval) time. Please don't defend this because you at CCP have done good the last few years since 2010. Don't go back to bad IT habits.
