Some people are complaining about the lack of PVP in wSpace. Others maintain that wSpace is turning into a nullsec-esque blobfest.

In this thread we came up with an idea.

WORMHOLE ALLIANCE TOURNAMENT!
Every willing alliance anchors a POS in a selected system and we organize structured PVP in that system's arena.

This WILL bring PVP, either by people respecting the rules or by people crashing the party to attack everyone inside.
The later will cost you space honor, but it will bring a fight.

WHAT's official channel: Altar of Bob
WHAT's mailing list: WH Alliance Tournaments
Evemail me ingame or via mailing list to have your crew's name put on the WHAT list.

CURRENT PARTICIPANTS:
skylian Verge
Red Coat Conspiracy
End-of-Line
Disavowed.
The Suicide Express
Ragnarok.
Sky Fighters
Boris Johnson's Love Children
Sleeper Social Club
Jester's Hole
Upholders
Semper Ubi Sub Ubi

RULES:
1st Wormhole Alliance Tournament
- Rules of engagement –

What is „Wormhole Alliance Tournament“ (WHAT)?
WHAT is an organized PVP event where only alliances and corporations that dwell in wSpace may participate. The tournament is elimination based where the initial pairs are drawn at random.
The participation fee for each team is 1 billion ISK. All of that goes into the prize pot.
WHAT acknowledges that there can be only one champion, so the champion takes the whole prize pot.
Wrecks can be salvaged by the winning team after each fight.

Where does this take place?
Codename: Bob's Altar
A permanent B274/Z647 hole without effects and with more than 20 moons will be selected.
Each team will set up a small POS at any available moon. The POS will be named after the alliance/corporation which owns it. No offensive systems are allowed on towers!

What do the teams look like?
The teams consist of up to 15 players, where each team has 1 flagship and 2 players in reserve.
Reserve players are kept at the stating container and they can be called in after a ship on their team pops. Players in reserve are allowed to reship as long as the 150 points per fleet limit is not exceeded.
The flagship is piloted by the fleet commander. Teams will be allowed to field 150 points in ships as long as they do not field the same ship more than 3 times. On top of that, only 2 logi hulls will be allowed (reserve ships may not be logistics). As for fitting, all ships will be limited to faction modules except the flagship, which will be able to fit anything while only logistic ships may fit RR modules (including capacitor transfer).
Teams may keep spare ships at their respective POSes.

POS regulations
Every team is to set up a tower at any vacant moon. Teams are free to choose any type/size of tower but no aggressive batteries are allowed (no guns, no e-war).
Towers should be named after the participating corporation/alliance.

How can we join?
All participating teams must be WH entities.
Alliances and corporations can apply, however 2 corporations from the same alliance may not apply.
Teams apply by evemailing a fulfuled form to the „WH Alliance Tournament“ mailing list and paying the participation fee to the ISK holder (probably Chribba).

What form?
Alliance/corporation:
Fleet commander:
Flagship:
Initial players:
Reserve players:

Points in ships?
Teams may field no more than 3 of a given ship. This applies to specifically named ships only, and not ship hulls. For example, 3 Merlins, 3 Hawks, and 3 Harpies would be legal. Teams may field no more than 2 logistics ship, or 2 tech one support cruiser, or 2 support frigate.
Ship point values are as follows. Ship types not listed in the table are not allowed.
• Battleship, Pirate Faction - 20
• Marauder – 25 (because bastion)
• Battleship, Navy Faction - 19
• Battleship - 17
• Black Ops Battleship - 17
• Command Ship - 16
• Strategic Cruiser – 16
• Recon Ship – 14
• Battlecruiser, Navy Faction – 14
• Battlecruiser (Including Gnosis) – 13
• Logistics Cruiser - 13
• Cruiser, Faction - 12
• Heavy Assault Cruiser - 12
• Heavy Interdictor – 12
• Tech 1 Support Cruiser - 10
• Cruiser - 7
• Bomber - 5
• Electronic Attack Frigate - 5
• Frigate, Faction - 4
• Assault Frigate – 4
• Tech 1 Disruption Frigate - 4
• Interdictor - 3
• Interceptor - 3
• Destroyer - 3
• Tech 1 Industrial Ships - 3
• Frigate – 2
Modified CCP AT rules.

Victory conditions?
During a match, a team scores points for each enemy ship it kills, equal to the tournament points value of that ship. The team that has scored the most points at the conclusion of the match, or that destroys the entire opposing team, is the winner.
Warpout is an instant disqualification.
If all your remaining players cloak, you lose.

What is allowed?
Cloaking is allowed (except covert cloaking).
Implants and boosters are allowed.
Podding is allowed.
Local repair modules are allowed.
Spider tanks are not allowed.
Off-grid boosting is not allowed.

The arena?
There will be 1 container at the center with 3 more containers 25km from the center to form a triangle. Apart from that, 2 more containers 250km from the center will be used as staging points.
FCs will be allowed to fleetwarp from the staging container to any container (except the other staging container) at any distance from 0 to 100 km.
A special spectator container will also be anchored above the field.
Spectators are required to cloak up within 25 km of the spectator container.

And outside the arena?
No conflict whatsoever. Engaging in combat outside the arena in Bob's Altar will result in your crew being shunned for life.

Does it need to be limited to WH groups in alliances?

Not as long as you maintain a tower in whatever system Bob selects.

EDIT: Actually, yes.

How big of teams? No capitals I'd assume (altho that would be kinda cool since regular Tourney doesn't allow them). What level of pimp allowed?

Maximum level of pimp! And maybe 1 capital per team, so choose wisely! :D

Come on, brosef, you need to sort out a plan before posting that title without a (?) at the end. People are inherently lazy, so the more you do, the more likely people will participate (confirming I'm talking out of my ass, and have no clue if anyone will participate). Also, RCOAT will prolly come along for the fun, assuming we can nail down some rules, logistics, and stuff.

If you want to actually do this, and we can get some people involved, I'm down to help out, bud.

To get people like you are why I made this thread.

Rules? Alliance Tournament rules except +1 capital of your choice.
The only 2 problems are getting people to join AND the act of traveling to Bob's Altar (lets codename the system like that).

So CCP, pretty please, jump clones in wSpace. :|

I'd suggest a system with a static high, and no capitals. Easy day :)

A C4 with a static HS?
What if some random idiots decide to storm the hole?
Do we lay down our differences and murder their hopes and dreams only to further instill their fear of Bob's dreaded legions of death?

Why not just find a system with a good static and enough moons that all wh entities can plop a tower down to online as needed for tourney stuff. Any small group of people would be able to hold tournaments there as they see fit and create rules as they like. As long as everyone can agree to leave other towers alone there, there's no issue. Keep them offline unless your corp is using the system. Lets make a permanent WHAT system. Big smile

Here is a basic conceptual idea:

Quote:
Wormhole Alliance Tournament (WHAT)

Basics: Recommend a Class 3 w/ Static High [D845]

Participants: Limited to Wormhole entities, and entities that are willing to bring one Small Tower, Orca, and ship comps for Tournament style PVP ONLY.

Rules:

1) All entities participating in WHAT agree to a standing Non-Invasion Pact (NIP) limited to the selected tournament system. Also, no fighting, or aggressing is permitted between participants outside of the Tournament Arenas. (If, at any point, this rule is violated, violators will be ejected from the Tournament and removed from system).

2) Each Tournament team will agree to the rules sanctioned by the WHAT organizers prior to entry into the tournament. The rules will be adhered to by all parties involved in the Tournament.

3) Specific Tournament Match rules will be released prior to the entry period, to include Tournament types, Ship types, Numbers allowed per match, Fitting restrictions, etc.

More Overall Tournament Rules will follow, however this is to give a brief idea of the fundamental plan for the WHAT. Prizes, Match Rules, and further Overall Rules to follow…

I am actually kind of down with an idea like this. there will be alot of our wormhole space honour on the line with all the tasty in the system. . . It could be a logistical nightmare though.

also +1 with codename Bobs Altar.

So, leaders of renown WH crews, please inform me via evemail if you decide to participate.
I would like to have at least 5 (including Skylian Verge) groups to kick this off.

Once there are 5 or more of us, rules will be discussed and and the quest to find Bob's Altar will begin!

I can imagine all that weeks bringing mats for making caps in there, and everyone ignoring each other while doing the logistics...

OP: C2/C4+HS for example, might as well get into some occupied as Jack said, or just evict some1 Roll, this thing would bring something special into wormholes, and i believe if something like this would happen, people would just ask for more and more tournament rounds, like weekend, and getting addicted to it.
I know i would..
