even though I find it very improbable, Id love this to happen :)

it would be awesome to have a reset on the market (yes Id lose isks too perhaphs, etc etc) but it would be nice non the less

edit: on the other hand now that I think about it, it wouldnt be much of a difference, knowing that everyone with market orders would just put them up back again at the same prices..

So its kinda pointless dont you think?

thumbs up if you like :))))

This is an idea that's probably been floated before:

Start a new instance of the Eve Online universe, reinstate the game as it was much closer to release.

All characters on this instance of the universe start fresh.

Things got too complicated. 500 vs 500 fleet fights and titans and capital ships, POS (This is coming from a guy who owned a titan when there were maybe 40 of them ever built).

It was a natural evolution for the game, adding content etc over the years. It was inevitable but I think the game was better in it more raw form closer to release.

Personally I just think a reset would be a LOT of fun and bring back a lot of people who've stopped playing (like myself).

Thoughts? Flame? All is welcome.

Rolling back to Castor? Dual MWD's, Cruise missile Kessies? Exodus or Exodus Cold war where they had to roll the **** back because....it just sucked.

Or the fact we had maybe 3500 nerds on at any given time...and when you see it spike to 5k you knew that FOE (FE) was pissing someone off.

Yeah, it was fairly cool back then, but no.

How is it pointless? Eve is over-crowded and over-complicated.

The fact is, Eve Online is by far the most complex computer game out there. This complexity is part of why Eve is such an amazing game.

However, when Eve was released, it was already the most complex game out there. Now it is so much more complex than it used to be.

Whether something is "too complex", not complex enough, or just right is clearly a matter of personal taste and opinion. So let's just agree to disagree.

You say Eve isn't over-crowded? Again, personal opinion, so lets agree to disagree. But where I'm coming from is that (as someone else commented here) you used to log on and find maybe 3,500 - 5,000 people on.

Not sure what it's like now, but when i left it was easily into 35 - 40K. The number of available systems hasn't changed. Population density has therefore increased ten-fold. This factor alone has a profound impact on the game play.

Meanwhile: most of losec that isn't FW space, a lot of nullsec, the more obscure parts of hisec and several wh clusters are completely barren. EVE isn't overcrowded everyone just inhabits relatively few systems.

You pick someone else gassed thread and choose which forum you haven't read recently that you think it will thrive in. If it doesn't thrive you get banned.

I'm not a bittervet, but I checked out some old videos of the original and don't really see how they'd get anyone to play it now.

... wait.. is this a stealth eve is dying thread?

That's not the point of this idea. Every time someone talks about this, that's never the reason why.
