Hello,

So, i start to have some valuables that i would like to sell in Jita.

How much do you think is safe to transport in a badger in high sec?

I think the modern rough estimate is five to ten thousand ISK per effective hit point on the hauler. Not sure how well the Badger can be tanked post-rebalance, but the idea is that you want a gank to be a losing proposition for the ganker even if everything is salvageable.

In a badger nothing is safe, especially in Jita. I wouldn't carry more than ~200m, anything more and some tornado will pop it without hesitation. Hell, someone's gonna pop a 200m badger pretty quick as well.

Some methods to increase your chance of survival:

1. Check the gate for gankers (Thrashers, tornadoes, catalysts, etc) with an alt before going through
2. Use insta-undocks when leaving station
3. Jam as much tank on it as possible (Speed won't hurt either). It's possible to survive a tornado volley on a badger, which will make it so much less attractive to pop you.

Thanks,

It will be less than 150M, so it should be good.

Still risky.

My rule of thumb even for an Iteron V is less than 100 Million per haul.

I wouldn't feel comfortable taking more than about 50-70 mil through Udema/Niarja and into Jita. Too many gankers on that route. That's Itty 5 or Bestower

If it's a once-off, consider using Red Frog or Push to move it there for you.

if so what should we use to move very high value items around (deadspace/officer/faction items etc).

Either an heavily tanked industrial or a covert ops ship using the cloak to keep safe?

Covert Ops or courier contract...

Edit: You can not tank an industrial heavily enough for that deadspace or officer ****.

Covert Ops, Blockade Runner. Better yet - courier contracts, that way you don't risk at all.

Or just a regular freight contract.

Just make sure to set an appropriate collateral level to:
a: Ensure that it's not worth stealing the contents
b: Reimburse you if the courier gets blown up.

As it's a relatively small quantity and value, going to Jita, you'll probably find you can get by with a public contract, with a lower fee (As people will be going that way anyway, and this just offsets their costs.)

Covert ops, blockade runner (with cloak), Freighter (if under a billion and you have lots of patience), courier contract. Cloaky T3 works also.

I used to use a brick battlecruiser (max buffer tanked) to move up to about 400 million before I got covert ops.

The Badger can tank pretty well, with my no where near V skill's I can get 40,000 ehp and 60%+ resists across the board. You can only fit the one GSC.

I guess an alphanado would need 3-4 volleys to pop me, but at least in the killmail it looks like I was trying to save my stuff.

Orca's also an option.

You can get a fairly decent tank on one.

Fit and rig an Orca probably, and that wins Understatement of the Week. (Up to 268K EHP if you spring for T2 CDFE's: is there any hi-sec-capable ship in the entire game that can match that?) Even cargo-rigged, it can still sport a better tank than any of the freighters.

You can do better, yes Blink Though the cargo space is significantly smaller. 328k EHP, against a 25%/25%/25%/25% damage profile. Antimatter would have to beat 276k EHP

I have an Itty V fitted with Cloak and MWD for the "trick". And Insta-undocks in Jita.

Serves pretty well (did not get tested so far, though, but that´s a good sign, I guess!? Also, it is what I would use should I ever get into Lo-Sec PI).

Edit: Just be so very careful at the Perimeter-Jita gate, which can become a deathtrap, especially at american prime time; if it is locked down use the Nyabainen gate.

Train Contracting to 3, outsource all hauling to useful idiots. (Sorry, public courier contractors).

They do it ridiculously cheap for collaterals under a billion.

If you want to haul yourself, a Gnosis can fit a solid amount of cargo with a shield tank in the mids, cargo expanders in the lows and neuts in the highs (to cap out tacklers). It's also a ship noone really bothers to cargoscan.

For small, extreme value items, tech 3 cruisers are usually best.

As an addition to the mostly good advice given in posts above:
If the items you want to transport are not too expensive per piece but you have a lot of them, consider flying the route multiple times.
For example, you have 200 million worth of goods to transport. If you fly the route 4 times, you have at most 50 million in your hold at any given time, reducing the chance of a gank. And if you do get blown up*), you only lose a portion of your valuables, instead of all of them.

*) Getting blown up is always a possibility in EvE, therefore never undock what you can't afford to lose. And that includes cargo.

If you want to do lo sec PI you should seriously considering the skills and the ISK to get a blockade runner (Crane).

They can warp cloaked so minimizes the risk considerably. Costs about 100m ISK and probably a months training time.
