I have spent SP that I regret.

But I do find occasional unique uses for many of those skills.

An alt trained mining enough to fly a mining barge. I have no intention of ever mining, but I do put those SP to use - pretending to mine in order to provide ganker warpins on lucrative gank targets.

The only SP I really never, ever use are those on PI.

I suggest that you direct your energies and efforts towards helping to improve the new player experience particularly in relation to new toons making educated skill choices rather than trying to wreck one of the main features of the game.
