So I'm a bit fed up of high sec ganking, I was wondering how long it takes to lock a mammoth and get your shot off before it warps away?

^ yea that. Fly a blockade runner so you can't be scanned, or don't complain about this.

To be honest it's not the locking time you should be worried about, but the lack of tank.Sad

Or hauling something that is worth way more than your ship. If you're carrying 30+ million ISK worth of goods in a T1 untanked hauler you're not protecting your assets so why should you get to keep it if someone has the means to steal it?

Tank it up, throw some inertia stabs in there, avoid autopilot, don't fly with more than 30m worth of stuff, and you should be more than fine.

European Mammoth, or Asian Mammoth?

It's not about locking time or even the amount of tank but potential profit. You were carrying 300+ mil each time you were ganked. It cost about 80-100 mil to fit up the Tornados that killed you leaving 200 mil of potential profit.

Don't be profitable to gank.

Hmmm, must be some new fangled game dynamic.

My experience in the past was that mammoths do not need locking to kill ... they just fall over at the suggestion of aggro.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

You gotta ask yourself...is the juice worth the squeeze? If the answer is yes for someone else, boi u gun get squeezed.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.
