Having issues updating EVE on personal hotspot

I have been playing eve regularly for 2 years now. I recently changed over to iphone internet a few months ago. Initially, it was running perfect. Now, I cannot even update EVE anymore. Every time I try the update progress bar turns from the usual green to a black color and a exception window pops up.
But when I use lets say my college's internet, I can update just fine. Can anyone explain why it is doing this?
