Declaring War

I am a member of a highsec wardeccing corp that some of you may know and others may not, I have noticed a huge flaw in the war declaring system.

Dissolving Corporations

When declaring war on someone and paying the fee for declaring war on them, they can instantly dissolve their corp and reform it with the same name, same logo, everything, except they won't be at war with you anymore. I personally feel this is an exploit of game mechanics. Why should they be able to dodge the wardec like that and I still have to pay my 50 million isk? I understand if you don't want to fight I suppose but then I should get my 50 million back.

An idea to solve this would be, make members have to stay in the corp for 48 hours while under a war declaration (24 hours of fighting time) or if they surrender before the wardec goes live, refund the 50m to the attacking corporation. Any other suggestions on this would be awesome, it doesn't work the way it is now and seems like a small easily fixed problem.

I am not saying i am the first to realize this, nor would I presume to be the first, but I feel like its an issue that needs to be addressed so I posted in the proper area.

I for one support anything that helps our delicate carebears avoid griefing in high sec.
Working as intended...

Well it appears you presented an "Idea" to fix your perceived problem, so this isn't really the right place to post.

Also, what the Princess said. It's a WAI mechanic that helps protect noobs from greifers. Find people who want to fight or go to low/null.

I agree that this dissolving corps mechanic is weaksauce. And I'm not even a wardeccer.

I know CCP states it's 'working as intended.' But to me that's just lame and I would also like to see it changed.

A little thought here, maybe...

You've got a bunch of carebears who like whatever industrial things it is they do... you disband the corp and reform it. You inevitably lose half the corp because they dont rejoin after you do so.

Its not like its a pure win situation for anything but an alt corp OR a really tight-knit group... no matter how much griefers who have never tried to do it with an actual corp claim it to be :P

As an entirely terribad gay failtard carebear I am offended by this characterization of carebears using this dynamic to evade griefer decs.

These, and similar, wardec dynamics are not just used by us carebears.

The wannabe griefers also use these tools when the carebears return their ill-advised aggro. Having just spent a month and a half griefing griefers I was very impressed at their cowardly corp hopping-and-dropping and other manoeuvres … just to evade the wrath of a raging solo carebear.

It’s just a game dynamic and it gets used by all who know about it and see enough benefit in using it. Live with it.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

OP started a war dec to get tears.

War dec delivered tears.

I see no problem here.

Only the tears are his, which was probably not his intention.

Whats going to be interesting to see is when said corp that is wardec'd desolved corp and they have PCO's owned to said corp... what i want to know is, what happeneds to the PCO's when they do that? do they go back to CONCORD? Or do they become nutral? Pirate

Money isnt the issue for us, its the corp we wardec useing a lame mechanic to get out of a war, insted of surrendering or just parking in a station and waiting it out for a day. sounds like the ones loseing the most isk are the ones closeing and reforming the corp. wasnt it like 100mil isk to form a corp? was back in the day.

They are transferred to the new corp or a holding corp before dissolving the old one.

Keeping POCO ownership is a non issue.

see, thats just crap What?

_EDIT_ afterthoughts

so, let me follow this line of thinking. if i wanted a POCO that another corp holds i need to wardec said corp. then they transfer to a holding corp, and i wardec them. then they just make another one and do it again? if thats not abuse of a mechanic i dont know what is.
