sooo, i have a geddon and i plan on using it for pvp. not anytime soon but i am trying to fit it right and have the appropriate skills for the weapon systems.

obviously i need t2 heavy drones cuz its a drone boat. so that part is settled and i am fairly happy with how ive tanked it and what not

however

all the fits i can find use large laser turrets and since i have heavy neuts on it i think thats a ******** idea cuz you just drain your cap faster (yes i have a heavy cap booster that is just enough to keep everything running. neuts/hardeners/etc).

so, i have decided to fit it with torps

could someone please explain why large laser turrets are better even though they use tons of cap? why not missiles or projectile turrets cuz its only dmg bonus is to drones

All your geddon should need is a full rack of heavy neuts. Your role in PVP is e-war, not DPS.

My PVP geddons have 7 heavy neuts, 2 heavy cap boostets, ECCM, MWD, low slot for tank plus 1 fitting mod.

I have sentry drones, but usually don't deploy DPS drones. Instead I drop my flight of WASP EC-900s and send them for the enemy e-war ships while I use my MWD to burn in range of the enemy logistics and screw them up.

There are battleships that are much better than the Amageddon for doing DPS, and no battleship other than the Bhaalgorn which is better for neuting. Play to your strengths!

I pretty much have to agree with Degnar. Fit the ship to its strengths and roles. Or use a different hull to do more what YOU like to do.

I loved the old Geddon. It was one of my go to favorites for BS fights. It was a let down for me when I logged in and found it had been seriously changed. I had 3 of them fitted, I think one of them got 1200ish DPS. I think I get about 900 now from a drone fit, but tbh...I probly won't undock it if I have other BS in my hanger.

Maybe what you want is a Navy Geddon? They can still be fitted for Laser Dips.

2 Fitting mods and no point? If you really don't think you need a point, then a ship scanner would be a good option so you can see how much cap the target have left.

I believe this is a better build. And it is also much easier to keep a target capped out with medium neuts then with only heavy.

Geddon used to be a laser gank boat so either the fits are older or just playing off of existing skill sets. Although a few pulse with scorch can still be very useful. Probably less so without the gun bonus and now with the drone bonus.

Your build is better than mine for subcap fights, although it's more vulnerable to ECM.

But my Geddon shines when a triage carrier is cyno'd in by the opposition. In that case, you need every once of neuting strength to suck it dry ASAP.
