simple as that, if you dock in a station with a medical bay, have it automatically check to update your clone and prompt you.

So if getting killed is not enough you want CCP to send us 24 messages about it with red and green buttons flashing everywhere?....
You just got killed, you are in a station with a medical bay, just update it!.... oh wait to lazy for that aren't we all? good, you dont deserve these SP anyways :P

No...cause and consequence.

You forgot to update your clone and you cloned (cause) and so have lost skillpoints (consequence).

We do not need to be spoon-fed the basics.

EDIT: I'll bet whoever does this will only ever do it once after that you remember. Twisted

I am not saying i have died and lost sp (only once years ago) but it just seems to me like medical clones are unnecessary in the game and only exist for penalization and offer no benefit aside from the hope that someone didn't update their clone like not stronting a tower, but last i checked you do not get a message saying so and so was killed by you and lost x skill points.

i would much rather see the medical clones and implants tied together. As you plug in an implant if you die with it you lose SP; +1 implants would be like synth boosters and from there +2 3 4 and 5 have an SP penalty when you die where 5 is less than 4 and 2 has the most or something.

this would cost more but at the same time you would have a benefit and a penalty for it and not only benefits (aside from costs).

Sorry, it was meant as an example not a "YOU IDIOT" type of post. Apologies if you read it as that and no offence was intended.

I'm afraid you've changed from what the OP states but I agree that Medical Clones are an ISK sink and a fantastic ISK sink that hits the older players harder than the younger ones no matter which way CCP spin it.

I would suggest that if this is another idea then make another thread rather than mix the two together and get peoples focused feedback.

Personally I'm not for the "Strategic Cruiser" lose SP cos you died kind of idea as it would be too detrimental especially to young PVP'ers finding their feet.

well the idea i had just posted as something that came up as i was typing it, but overall i think a short fix would be the check box and then the long term would be some kind of merging of the clones and the implants or something like that to do a risk reward for them.

EVEMon is pretty good about telling me when I have an insufficient clone on any of my characters, although I do still usually check on my own from time to time.

I'm all for adding more thinking aspects of the game over remembering aspects of the game. This shouldn't be that little light up game Simon Says. It should require thinking and there is little enjoyable gameplay value in having to remember to update your clone all the time.

And by the way, clones can need to be updated even when you don't have immediate access to a bay -- like when you exceed your current clone's SP limit.

But its not really, its just a way to take ISK out of the game. There's no active choice to PVP without an up to date clone for x advantage, just punishment if you forget.

We have automatic pay toggles for offices, wars, etc. I don't see what the difference is really.

Just don't get these ideas as seen before....

People take the time to add the daily process of checking markets, updating sell/buy orders if changes

peruse contracts for any decent deals

swap out fits

check their inventories to see if time to restock items

yet the few seconds to check clone is a chore....

And if you forget to, losing sp is not end of the world. Made this mistake twice. Lived, learned, moved on and avoid a 3rd tard moment like the plague.

A neat but can be pricey trick is to go a few levels over current clone need. gives you a buffer in case you forget. Its only isk. If you are dying that infrequently to where you actually run into the issue of sp accumulating over current clone more often than geting podded you have a buffer. This buffer can be months of training time. If you are not going damn I haven't checked clone in say 4 months...that's on you.

Poddings no pity really. Game gives you all the hints you need. You were podded, you woke up in station. All the hints are there, follow the signs. It took me 2 times to realize that titan is not going anywhere and will be bridging reinforcements till fc calls the op over. It can wait 30 seconds for an upgrade clone process to be done.
