Similar to the ORE Venture, just a dedicated salvage frigate with salvage bonuses similar to the Noctis. (Like a smaller version of the Noctis.) This will consolidate the racial salvage frigates we currently have.

That would be nice. However you could always go for a destroyer :)

Once upon a time back in my noobish days we were running an Anomaly within a wormhole. . Dreads, Carriers and a few site tengus on grid, Our lack of eyes on holes lead one bold soul to sit and watch us, Once the final sleeper went down the destroyer uncloaks and begins to salvage our loot.

Burning so fast our missles couldn't hit him properly, while a few others left to reship. . the guy ended up getting just over a 100mil worth of blue loot / salvage from us.

I guess the point is. a destroyer works well enough for salvage, even better if you have the balls of that guy. I still laugh when i think about that bloke hurting our noobish pride with his brazen display.

The Venture is already perfectly suited for salvaging active PvP battlefields.

I think what you are looking for is a salvage destroyer.

Give it some salvage / beam bonuses and ditch the other ones.

This was suggested in a thread recently and the consensus was the same; yeah, they could make one, but a destroyer can already do it as well as you could make any frig do it without making it better than a noctis, and with a very small train time to boot.

So yeah, they could make a salvage frig that took 12 hours to train and you could use it for 12 hours until you could fly a destroyer that did it better. And if you made it more powerful than that it would imbalance the noctis.

there are already plenty of salvage options available. Between rigs and the already generous options among existing t1 frigates, including the venture, whats the need?

No we didn't try to recruit him, we were much to embarrassed at losing all that isk to a destroyer. But if i could remember the guys name, I might throw a convo his way the next time i saw him

An ORE salvaging destroyer hull with bonuses to tractor beam range and maybe reduction in PG/CPU fitting requirements of tractor beams and salvagers would be great. I realize that the Noctis is a very easy train, but it would be very nice to have a less expensive, more nimble option with actual role bonuses for salvaging in dangerous areas and situations. The small size of a dessie's cargohold should ensure that it doesn't step on the Noctis' feet too much.

All that assumes that this new PvE deployable for Rubicon doesn't make dedicated salvaging ships irrelevant.

I really expected them to add salvaging frigs a long time ago.
Something almost identical to tech1 scanning frigs but with: Ship bonus: 10% bonus to salvager range and cycle speed, -5% cap recharge time per level.
4 highs 3 mids 2 lows.
550 cargohold.
Like the incarnation of the former glorious Vigil ninja frigate.

Although with the current scanning frigs it is far from a necessity, it would return ninja salvage to its former glory.
You used to compete with destroyers or BS heck even industrials, in a vigil or possibly a destroyer.
How do you compete with a noctis on site, you don't.

You are suggesting that they make a smaller more powerful Noctis.

I would like a Battlecruiser as powerful as a Marauder.
