horrible of ccl not to put something out. There is no way to go backwards. They could have easily put something in the launcher i.e. don't upgrade.

if you set your mac resolution on MBPr back to optimized for retnia it works again.

This worked for me. I had the issue where i could hear the intro cinematic but otherwise had no indication that the game was running other than an extra icon in the dock. Once in game I changed the in game resolution to 1650x1050 and changed my laptop settings back to scaled with the more space preference. The game now launches fine. I don't know if changing the in game resolution had any impact on it.

Personally, I found it works not any worse or better than 10.8.

The only issue (and it's a sizable one) is that voice doesn't work anymore.

Anyone has any solution for that? And please, don't say "use TS or mumble" or an equivalent ;)

Not experiencing that issue here. Seems to work ok. In fact, the client has been a lot more stable overall since upgrading. I do get occasional sound stuttering, but I think that's because I've got resource caching enabled?

I had to unplug my 2nd display for the launcher to work.

When i started EVE Launcher at first on my new MBR'13 i only got the sound thru and the app did not show up on the screen, so i changed the resolution to "whats the best for retina" and it worked, and it does now work on the highest resolution.

I'm now having a similar problem. Client will appear prompting me to log in. I click the "play" button and.....nothing. The button switches to launching, only to cycle back to play after a minute or so. It looks like it's doing something as the program appears in the dock, but, still no game. I've looked through my display settings, etc. Adjusted them all the way to the lowest resolution, to no avail. I can't find the library files people have mentioned, nor do I see any reference to wine server in any of the logs.

Additionally, after I attempt to log in to the game and quit the client, EVE continues to run. The icon remains in the dock and in order to restart my system I have to force quit the app. I should add this was a problem I had with OS X 10.7.5. In the past a restart would clear up the problem, not now. Thinking it was an OS problem I upgraded to Mavericks (DUMB).

I'm using a 2009-ish Mac Pro. OS X Mavericks dual quad 2.26 mhz chips. 8 gig of ram and a Radeon HD 4870 with 512 mb. Display is an Apple 30 inch HD monitor.

I should also add...I have removed and reinstalled EVE three times, and run the repair app sent to me by EVE. Now, I am, apparently, in the purgatory they call technical support. Radio silence.

Hi Cyrus,

Just a quick note. The 'library' folder is hidden in Mavericks, and 10.7/10.8 for that matter.

To reveal it in Mavericks, open finder, click on your username under 'favourites', and you should be faced with a list of folders attached to your user account. Alternatively, press CMD+Shift+H to be taken to it. Now click 'View' from the menu bar at top of screen, and select 'show view options' from the drop down list. In the popup window, check 'show library folder'.

The library folder should now appear in your user folder, but you may need to rearrange icons to reveal it.

Open this to find the 'Application Support' folder, and in that you will find the 'EVE Online' folder.

If you want to completely reset everything for your EVE client, move this folder to the trash. Renaming the folder also works if you want to keep it, just in case.

If the client is still running and your cannot close it, try clicking the Apple symbol top left of your screen, and selecting 'Force Quit' from the drop down menu. You should be able to terminate the EVE client form their without having to restart.

Hope that helps.

I've been looking into this and cannot reproduce this on a Mac Pro.

Are there still people affected by this, and if so, can you tell me what system you are using it on?

If you are still affected, can you please submit a bug report, attach a system profiler report, and log files as per the Mac Bug Reporting page here.

Thanks

i guess the main problem is, EVE wants to launch at the native resolution of your screen.

MY SOLUTION IS:

*set your OS resolution to the native resolution of your screen. for example, if you own a macbook pro with retina screen, you should set it to 2880x1800. there are numerious software and tricks to set your resolution to 2880x1800 (which is disabled OS settings in display properties). (for example "QuickRes" is an app that can do this, it used to be free but now it's not. there should be one called "RetinaDisplay Utility" or smt that was free)

*once you're set, launch eve again, it'll open 2880x1800 and run extramega crappy.

*set your resolution IN-GAME to whatever you like (i mean your original desktop resolution you prefer), press apply.

*eve will now CRASH. don't worry. once you go back to your original OS resolution (which MUST be same as the one you set in-game), you'll have no problem launching eve.
