hey CCP Soulblighter, could you possibly consider adding jump commands to bookmarks as well? Would be nice for somewhat simplifying travel through multiple wormholes to empire space. Those K-space guys have it easy.

Checked into this real quick and we do have a precedent for interacting with objects via bookmark with station bookmarks allowing you to Dock. The problem for your request in particular is that bookmarked wormholes don't actually seem to be bookmarking the wormhole itself. It seems to be creating a generic bookmark at the location of the wormhole instead.

I suspect it has to do with the nature of wormholes disappearing. I don't know the bookmark system at all, and 5 minutes of poking around didn't reveal anything in particular.

I would recommend adding this feature request to the new small things thread. This would be a really good future papercut.

Fracking amazing!

CCP keep these guys!!

How about renaming bookmarks on right click, why must we go through the menus!

Pretty please!

Confirming that Crucible's current feature/fix list convinced me to re-up my subscription in early 2012 when it comes due.

Fix POSes.  Every player should want one (even if all players can't have one).

When I reviewed the auto-pan functionality, I found several broken cases. Sometimes it would never auto-pan to a target, even if you hovered deliberately. The delay was also huge, which personally gave me the feeling auto-pan wasn't related to the target icons.

Sorry to those folks who actually knew the tricks to make it work. It was fairly broken anyways, and it seemed cleaner for MOST people to just remove the feature.
With this feature gone, is there a way to "look at" something without resetting the camera? My problem with the current "look at" box is that I can't figure out how to get the camera back where it was before, rather than just reseting it to very-close and then needing to manually adjust.

A better solution might be a "quick look" button on the overview selection panel: hold down your mouse on the button, and you get the same functionality as auto-pan. Release, and it immediately reverts back to whereever it was.

Aren't Caldari supposed to have a large signature?

Posting to confirm that this team is awesome and things like this are incredibly awesome and improve the EVE experience so much more than seemingly flashier things.

I am actually more excited about the features in this devblog than I have been about the last two 'expansions'. Keep range per ship is a dream come true.

Much much love.

Also, have you ever been flying along, and your camera randomly rotates to something random off in the distance? You probably hovered over a target icon by accident. That feature is gone now. No more random auto-panning to targets.

I am begging you to rethink this. The fix for a feature should not be its removal. I use this because it provides a cool angle to watch my battle, or whatever it is I'm doing. There must be another way...

If any of you guys in Team Papercuts ever have a nasty accident and you need a new testicle.

You can have one of mine.

Awesome work. Bravo. Just wish you were permanent EVE devs

CCP, you most likely noticed the large amount of goodwill in this tread. The Team BFF efforts had the same reaction, fixing these little things had a big effect. But Team BFF seemed to get re-focued on bigger stuff, and the papercut fixes got lost, until now.

I think Team Papercuts needs to persist and be a permanent part of the CCP organization. Any Dev can sign up for a 3 week stint in it. They go in, do fixes that can be done in 3 weeks, then go back to their normal team. Make it say a three person team, one of which is replaced each week from the sign-up list. This way we get a continuous stream of these little fixes. After all, they seem to have the biggest impact to the player base.

...and especially the bolded text to help keep the 'papercuts' changes fresh. I'm sure every dev that plays eve will have a different focus and ist of gripes they'll want to address, this idea will help no-end with distributing these changes throughout the player experience.

There's sometimes a bug on sisi currently which obstructs you from picking up another players drones if they're still "connected" or think they are, have you QA-ed that this doesn't obstruct players from picking up other players drones in space?

I'll try and test it.

Daedalus Arcova wrote:

Currently on TQ, if you recall your drones but warp off before they've reached you, then you'll still be linked to them even though you're off grid. They'll still just sit there, but if you return to grid you can give them commands again.

I don't know if that was a bug or feature, but I suspect this might be what is preventing you from scooping some drones that look like they're abandoned.

An update on the issue you both mentioned:

Thanks to both of you, we have tracked down and can now reproduce this defect. The fix should be straight-forward, but we want to ensure it doesn't cause unnecessary fallout. Because it's a more of an annoyance rather than a game crushing issue, we won't rush out the change until after Crucible is released. This will give us time to properly test it.

Again, thanks for the help! It's very much appreciated.

And while I was at it, I did some extra credit and made it so bomb launchers show the explosion radius centered where the bomb is going to land ~30km in front of your ship.

this is possibly the greatest thing i've ever heard. I'll be trying this one out on SiSi very soon.

go go Team Papercuts.

P.S.

CCP, my faith in you as a company has been restored without question. Little gripes about the Naga not having Torp launchers lingers, but that's small potato's in comparison to all the great work you've done on this expansion. The nebula look amazing, the new tier 3 battlecruisers are outstanding. All the little fixes and improvements are astounding. From the anchoring timers to the long needed blaster buff, you've knocked it out of the park on this one. May we look back on this expansion with the fondness of Apocrypha.

Long live CCP!

Let me get this straight. Someone brought up a point, and you quickly looked into the possibility of implementing it? Shut up! (as my younger daughters might say) I am floored by this team and its incredibly quick response. Even if your team disbands right away, I strongly urge you guys to do this again in about 4 months, to see what else you can do.

This is the way all good companies with excellent employees respond. I look forward to seeing what else you get to do in the future. Thanks.

I may not like you or your point of view but you have a right to voice it.

You guys have done an awesome job. I've waited a long time for some of these updates.

I always hated it when I would dock and then have most of my open ship windows close. That was annoying, but no more!!

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure, based on the responses I've been reading and my own reaction to this blog.

These devs just won eve. Or at least the contest for the players favorite dev team.

Good job. Any chance on you guys getting some more time off from WoD to come and do some more of this crazy awesome stuff?
