running ubuntu 13.04 with Playonlinux managed to install and run eve ok, had to create a new shortcut because the launcher is brorken

using AMD proprietary drivers, some shaders dont look good

Which version of Wine? I'm using 1.7.4 from WINE repository and launcher (rarely) doesn't show login option, however simple restart fixes that issue. Shaders look ok too (set to high).

My setup:

Ubuntu Gnome 13.10
Nvidia 319.60
Wine 1.7.4 with DirectX9, vcrun 2005-2010, corefonts and tahoma installed through Winetricks

No special launch options or anything, works almost out of the box.

Since that happens on Windows as well, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Launcher derp.
