Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get on singularity server for the past 3 days but couldn't manage to patch the client as i'm getting stuck at 3/4 applying patch at 100% status.

What i did was cloning my eve folder and creating a shortcut to desktop with with " /server:singularity". It always worked until the last patch.

The launcher doesn't download more than 200mb and started patching and failing.

I also tried using the repair tool from the launcher and also creating a shortcut on the desktop with --sisi command. Doesn't work in both ways.

Deleted the cache folders and didn't change anything.

I did all this several times trying to mix repair and launcher, deleting and cloning the directory, disabling firewall/antivirus (nod32).

Always the same resault. I really need help.

Any advice is welcome.

I would suggest running the EVE Launcher as admin. The access control lists for copied folders sometimes end up in a weird state, and the easiest fix is to simply run as administrator.

I've been having this issue since rubicon appeared on the test server.

The launcher does this every single time, and the only way I can patch is repair.

I've reinstalled repeatedly, re-installed from scratch even.

Doesn't seem to be doing any disk io http://i.imgur.com/xGmjHyx.png - that was after an hour or so of waiting on the 100% bug.

I have the same issue on a different (albeit similar hardware) computer as well.

First of all thanks for the help.
My problem was ESET SMART SECURITY that was filtering my connection with patch server.

The solution is here for those who have a similar problem:

As of 01:40 GMT (14th March) we released a new Launcher and a new repair tool to resolve some issues that players have been experiencing during the initial deployment of Crucible 1.5.

Those of you experiencing issues with the Launcher or updating the game, please follow these steps:

1. Reboot the computer.
2. Navigate to the EVE client install folder.
3. Run the Repair tool until it finshes.
4. Run eve.exe from the same folder

We ask people to reboot their computer to make sure that there are no locked files or other processes running while running the repair tool. This would otherwise interfere with the repair tool and prevent the client from updating.

If you have trouble getting the repair tool you can manually download the latest version here and drop it into the folder you are trying to repair: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/345/repair.exe

Please let us know if this resolves the issues you are experiencing.

Update 14th March 16:15 GMT :

We have found a solution for some people getting corrupted downloaded data. The problem is caused by an antivirus/firewall called ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

Players are asked to try to disable the protocol content filtering:

1. Open the main window for ESET
2. Press F5 to open the Advanced Setup Window
3. From the Advanced Setup tree, click Personal firewall Protocol filtering (for ESET Smart Security) or Antivirus and antispyware Protocol filtering (for ESET NOD32 Antivirus).
4. Untick the checkbox “Enable application protocol content filtering”
5. Download the latest repair tool: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/345/repair.exe
6. Drop the repair.exe into the EVE client folder.
7. Run repair.exe

This will update your game client, take you to the latest version and give you a working version of the Launcher.

If that does not resolve your problem, please reply here.

A far better solution than turning off protocol filtering in Eset AV products is to use the "Exclusions by path" setting.

These instructions are for Eset Endpoint Antivirus (the business version of their AV) so you might have to change it slightly :

Go to Advanced Setup->Computer->Antivirus and antispyware->Exclusions by path then add your Eve-Sisi directory to that.

Turning off protocol filtering means you are not checking POP3 or http traffic as its received. This leaves you open to various drive-by website exploits - especially if you are stupid enough to have any version of Java installed.

It should be noted that the problem here is actually with the CDN which CCP use and NOT with Eset AV* - its not an issue with the production build of Eve and hasn't been for a couple of years.

Last time I looked the problem was caused by the CDN timing out during the period when Eset is checking the downloads. If you turn off heuristics then it works fine as well. Never occurs with any other CDN, just the provider CCP use.

The problem only exists with the sisi builds of Eve and always has done since CCP switched CDN providers years ago.

Why that is the case I don't know.

*not on the Eset Endpoint Antivirus product anyway - the consumer version differs from the business version slightly.
