i've been playing (without interruption) for over 5 years now.
from time to time i've had issues with the downloaded client becoming corrupted.

lately, i've experienced many client "freezes", lost connection messages and black screens.
so i figured my client was corrupted - deleted it and began downloading a new version.

i have attempted to download the mac version of the current client 3 times today.

i also filed a petition and a bug report - neither of which has generated a response.

i am running mac version 10.8.5, safari version 6.0.5 on a macbook pro.

the download took well over an hour. verification another 45 minutes or so.
then had the files copied to my applications folder (that took another 45 minutes).

tried to start the client and got the following message:

"eve online" is damaged and cannot be opened. you should move it to the trash
safari downloaded this file from cdn1.eveonline.com

what's going on ccp? thought you'd fixed these issues.....
yes - my account is current....

Try to run Eve different way. Do not run it from the shortcut below or from applications. Try using the Finder to run it. In Finder go to Applications, then Eve online, then right click and "show the contents", (probably granting proxy at this point), then go to Contents folder, then to Resourses folder, and only then click Eve button.
That worked for me.
Seems to be some crap in shortcuts.

had the same problem. downloaded 3 times and it kept telling me that it needed to be moved to the trash. so i did and downloaded again. The latest download would not open at all. so i restored one of my deleted copies from the trash and BAM! it worked. Shocked

so... "put back" a copy of eve you have downloaded and deleted.
also double check that your security and privacy settings are set to allow opening of 3rd party software.

I have downloaded the EvE client 3 times now with the same issue. Whenever I run it from any executable application in the directory it reports that the application is bad and needs to be moved to the trash.

I have done the put back method, and I have gone digging in the folder to run the client from any application I could find.

OSX 10.8.5 Update 10

Need some help from CCP support on this.

Since it's been several weeks since the last post, I figured I would post the solution to this problem. OS X is giving you the wrong error message. What it really should say is you are trying to run an application from an unknown developer. If you go into your security settings and set it to be able to launch applications from any developer the application will launch without issue.

That was my experience anyway, and I had the exact same problem.
