This has a quite thorough list of links to all the relevant and observing press about Lou.

ed: Don't miss the link at the bottom to the PBS American Master's documentary on Lou.

I had no idea either until around 2003 when my parents were visiting me in San Fran, and my mother and I were in an art gallery on Powell street and saw that Liebowitz photo, so I investigated and found out they had been dating since 1998.

Why would the tabloids ever run stories about intelligent, creative people who get together and stick ?? Lol

Poor Lou and Laurie, I guess they never did anything stupid enough, outrageous enough, or despicable enough to make the news. More power to them. Smile

I'm just glad I got to see Laurie perform in 1986 in Houston along with a concurrent retrospective of her art at the time at the Contemporary Art Museum.

The weird part is that friends of mine who worked at the same record store were outside the concert hall protesting with signs saying she had sold out her art for commercial purposes Lol Ya gotta eat somehow.

Let me pose the actual equations Lol

pretty + drama = tobloid

not pretty + intelligence - drama = a slow sink into 'obscurity'

I didn't figure that equation out until Rick James and his girlfriend got arrested and accused of ****. Rick's manager was happy about all of the media attention. Free publicity, a great chance to try to restart Rick's career. Ugh
