Gunship Scorpion?

No, before you lose your head, this is not a whacky rail-fitted Scorpion build idea (I'd expect -- and likely deserve -- to be driven off the forums by a mob wielding pitch forks, torches and garlic for such a suggestion. Why the garlic? Healthy peasants, of course!).

Rather, I was just flying past one of those ubiquitous Jita "gunship" Scorpions and thought to myself: "hey, that actually looks pretty cool." Anyone else wish there was a ship with the Scorp model that could utilize guns like the NPCs do? Yes, yes, I know -- there are a half-dozen vessels already using that same model. But, hey, IMO it's the best looking Caldari ship in the game -- what's one more version of it?

Sheer silliness, of course. But I do think it looks pretty cool with guns.

*Edit*

I suppose they could turn the Rattlesnake into a gunship if they wanted. I mean... it seems to be very underutilized. Something about rail sniping in a traditional jungle camo seems fitting, too. Hmm.

Yeah, I saw a build like that on Evemon. I guess the theory is generally a Master and Commander-style 'lure them in close and then let fly!'...? I admit, it's very creative, but I prefer railboats to be snipers. That's just me, though. More power to people who can pull the blasterscorp off.

The main Problem may even be the enemy. Even if you make your fit sort of work, the oppositions seeing a scorpion hull gets their minds filled with thoughts on ecm.

And who wants to fight an ecm boat alone? Most run like hell or call their friends, their grandmothers and her dog to come kill it.

I agree. I think the theory is that a hypothetical player who sees a Scorp and isn't instantly targeted by ECM would then conclude that they are facing a total newb, and close for an easy kill. However, with all the people doing crazy fits these days with the precise purpose of trying to lure prey in close, that antagonist would have to be pretty dumb to fall for this.

I see a lot of people complaining about it, though.

*Shrug.*

Look, I'm not trying to eat anyone else's lunch. All I'm saying is that it's a hull that looks neat mounting rails, and it's a shame that the only ones that get to do it are NPCs. That's all.
