Awhile back I was very into booster production. I was making about 50 standard pills a day selling on the lowsec market of FW players. The reason I quit was I was outproducing what I was selling. Any bulk stash I had to get rid of quicker then the market in low I took to jita.

There is no way to escape the NPC customs scans. It will happen cloaked or not. The easiest way to not have it confiscated is a quick alligning frigate (Inertia stabs help) and just manually warp gate to gate.

Disregard the popup until you are able to get through the other gate to the side There are no way to avoid the fines so take that into account with planning profits. But atleast you can not get it taken away being quick enough on the warp.

Oh and you lose a little sec status

Thanks for your input! I understand the fine and security hit; that's really not a concern to me if/when I choose to run them. The confiscation/loss of investment was a concern, and I was curious whether the presence of Customs ships or lack thereof actually meant something would happen or not. If scouting a route away from Customs agents actually works I'd definately dive into it (boosters for my FW alts), but if that won't work, I'll just pay for those boosters that do manage to get to Rens or Hek.

Yeah by all means if you want to invest in the time to scout out a route that doesnt include the custom officers then that would work fine. If theres no officers then no chance of being scanned :D

Isn't the pop up message of customs and the action against you is same like when concord deals with negative standing criminal or like federation treats enemy of their factions ?

Because there is always threshold between the popup message and the action itself makes you able to get away to next gate with your goodies.

Lady Areola Fappington:  Solo PVP isn't dead!  You just need to make sure you have your booster, remote rep, cyno, and emergency Falcon alts logged in and ready before you do any solo PVPing.

For transporting the booster pills to Jita use a fast aligning frigate. Anything using a covert ops cloaking device is useless as the customs officers scan you anyway. Since you are producing in a WH with a static Hi you dont need to cloak up for save passage. Entering a system through a gate you have got 3-4 seconds to warp off the gate before the customs start scanning your cargo. There is no way to veil the boosters in your cargohold.

Should you be scanned, you will have a pop up which requests you to jettison the contraband which you can ignore. Thereafter you ll suffer a slight security loss, an automatically debitted fine ( for 50 standard exile it is like 4mil isk i.e.). I am not sure if you suffer a suspect flag but even if doesnt really matter.

As the gates to jita are pretty often locked down you should make sure in before they arent as you dont want to land on a locked gate.

If you watch out and immediately get off the gates you should be able to run through hole empire without getting scanned even once.

Does this work? How difficult is this? What are the consequences?

I went onto SiSi to do some tests for runing boosters through Hisec. I took the fastest aligning ship I could fly, rigged it and fitted it for fastest alignment, stuck a booster in the hold and went for a drive. What I found was that I didn't get scanned on the incoming gate once, but I got the pop-up on the outgate roughly 50% of the time that Customs were on the gate.

I selected the Jump option on warping so went straight to zero on the gate and jumped automatically, but still got caught. I am of the opinion that there is nothing to do to prevent a fine if you get scanned, and the scan will happen on a random chance no matter what you do. I will run more tests to further test my theory prior to actually moving any boosters through hisec on the real server.

This, I think is something which could use a new skill to train:

Smuggling - 15% per level to avoid fines from Customs

You would never be 100% safe, but the better skilled you are the less likely to be caught, just like in real life. hehe. In fact, I think I will head over to the Ideas forum and stick it in.

Which ship did you use and how did you fit it? I used to transport boosters and was only scanned and fined one time (admittenly before Odysee). The trick is not to get scanned which happens after the 3 very first seconds after entering the system. As far as I remember the holding cloak does not prevent the scan. Once jumped in, the clock is ticking immediately.

I used a Slasher fitted with Low Friction Nozzle Joint rigs and the lows fitted with Istab IIs. Like I said, it wasn't a problem warping away from a gate, it was arriving on the outgate and being scanned prior to the jump animation where I was caught by Customs.

+1 for covops. Fear not the Customs Officers, and pray you don't run into a SB'ing BS gate camp in low Twisted.

Being in W-space, you can also simply wait until you get a hole out to or near Jita...

Some advices too:

Selling in Jita is not going to earn you the most profit, nor will it necessarily move the quickest there, unless you sit there bumping sell orders all day, or severely undercut, which is dumb. I make better profits when I peanut butter my product across some high/low border systems, or sell in the lesser hubs. If you can afford to wait a bit longer, do that.
