Is there an active Merc channel? Plus - avg value of selling a kill right?

Still fairly new guys - just curious if these kills rights I have hold any value. For example, my Mackinaw got ganked - lost about 183 million total value - think they only looted like 10 million from the dropped cargo - but just curious what that would be worth if I sold it or put it out for everyone. Is there a going rate? Also - is there an active in-game channel where these are discussed or sold to individuals? I can't seem to find it...

Thanks.

Depends less on what you lost and more on what how much is to be gained by killing the target.

Is it a new pilot or someone with lots of experience? Do they fly expensive ships likely to drop good loot, or standard Catalyst gank fits? Are they from a Corp that someone might want to have represented in their killboard (eg. Goons or Death Dealers)? Is the pilot at -10 sec status or do they have something to lose? How much bounty do they have on them?

So first thing, if they are at -10 sec status forget it. They can already be freely engaged by anyone, so no need to buy a kill right.

If not, then you need to work out what price might be attractive enough for someone to pay you to be able to hit the person.

Commonly, this will be in the region of 5 - 50 million.

Ah thank you so much. It was a group of 5 ....4 catalysts/1 thrasher - they have sec statuses of 2.0 to 5.0. I lost about 183 mil if you count the mackinaw. Here's 2 of them for example.

I'm just asking more out of curiousity as this part of the game is new to me:

http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Xerx+Blade

http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Tornicks

http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Maks+ToR

etc.. on the other 2.

Thoughts? Other than im terrible noob and I should be ashamed of myself, haha.

Oh and is this the place to try and make a deal to sell kill rights or is that done in a channel in game? Thanks!

10m is a good starting place. Just set them public for 10m.

Unless they are pirate status, then don't bother.

Actually, I was simply stating that chasing after pilots suicide ganking in highsec, who will probably have a multitude of kill rights already available, negative sec status, and engage in pvp in such an organized manner that once they are on grid and able to be engaged- the ship they undocked with is probably already in the midst of getting CONCORDED with their objective for undocking probably achieved.

Paying mercs to go after them will probably not be a feasible option for the pilot since they probably want more isk than he has ever had, and even better- probably won't get any meaningful kills against the party in question. So in fact, the answer to his question (with the implication of getting the satisfaction that he wants) is an absolute negative.

All that aside- while I do agree that I come often seem 'rude', I'll take the badass comment as a compliment, and I assure you it has nothing to do with corp or alliance affiliation- should you wish to prove otherwise, I currently reside in Kinakka.
