I will post my own scientific numbers soon, just after I finish this game of darts.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

So say theres 25k people online? Thats about 8k players online.

Divide that by over 5k systems in existence, that leaves you at barely 1 person per system.

Can we see the official source of your figures please?

Thank you

The actual number of players is probably even less than that estimate.
Considering the average 200 man Null sec corp is usually no more than 15-20 people, add the high sec alts that aren't in a corp and the real number is probably closer to 2.5k.

…and you have sources for those numbers, presumably?

Never lived in Nullsec Tippia?

I have, with a number of corps, it was rare to have more than 20-30 live people in a 300 man corp, and that ratio has held throughout my eve life. When you live in 0.0, alts are almost a requirement.
I'm currently in a 200 man active 0.0 pvp corp and at most we have 20 live players. When we roam, usually everyone is running at least one other account for various reasons in and out of fleet. It's always been that way, and it was really not that much different in highsec, except alts weren't actually required.

Alt's are a cancer to this game, vast swaths of space lay empty, because alts can't run off and do things on their own. At least without breaking the EULA.Lol

CCP has created this mess with the drive to sell more alts. I realize it would have been harder, and cost more to go out and bring in new subscribers, but in choosing to grind more money out of their existing addicts, they've damaged their own game.

That's all well and nice, but do you have any actual source for your numbers, especially since you're speaking for every corp in the game?

You guys need to stop breaking CCP's ToS, before you get banned.

CCP's ToS states that you cannot say you are an alt of someone, so therefore there are no alts in this game.

I would be careful so as to not claim that you have an alt because you could be banned.

I for one only have one character & that is me.

Yes but the actual number of players is probably even less than that estimate. When we bear in mind that the average highseccer is an insane octopus controlling fifty mining accounts per tentacle, we realise that a hundred highsec corps are no more than 1-2 octopuses. The actual actual number is probably close to 30-40 people controlling the nullsec cartels while ~7 octopuses control highsec for a total of 37-47 people tops

Yes, but the actual number of players online is subjective. In truth, the 'players' online depends solely on one giant millipede's ability to control those octopuses. Since octopuses have short attention spans, this millipede uses his feet to usher them back to their cubicles. So instead of identifying how many unique 'people' online, should we should count the number of millipede legs ushering octopi, or merely the millipede?

If it's the later, i can only ascertain that 2 people play this game. Myself, and the Millipede Collective.

Once you move out of highsec into into null; you'll realize the importance of alts.

It's damn near a requirement just to stay sane and "ACTIVE". For example, while spending what seems as an eternity roaming for pvp, sitting on a titan, etc etc; You could also be mining ore/ice, ratting, running exploration sites, research, anything and everything industry wise, servicing moon goo, running your alt corporation in a WH running sites & be thoroughly enjoying the game. P.S. this setup requires decent hardware, multiple monitors & the ability to multitask like a champion.

An exciting day for me is:
Running C4 sites multibox style,
Lowsec roaming on some adhoc gang,
another alt in FW
Ice mining at an undisclosed highsec island. ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!

& that's how I play EvE
