Anyone else done this escalation before? I've just completed it twice, and at the end the Guristas Colonol (or w/e it's called) wreck is completely empty. Am I missing something?

Also, I really wish CCP included journal entries that gave you some idea of what was going on. Instead of the general "ignore entry, set destination, blow stuff up until there's a wreck with shineys in" philosophy we have at the moment.

Half the time in complexes nothing drops, there's no faction spawn, and I'm left wandering whether or not I've completely missed something.

Random is random, I've gotten the faction loots to drop a couple times. Not knowing what the hell is going on with the RNG is the nature of exploration, get used to it. I'd prefer a bit more feedback myself - i.e. definite messages on whether you've dead-ended early, etc, but there are enough guides out there that you should always know what you have to do, and at that point it's all up to the dice.

Aye, I've run them a lot, and the RNG isn't usually too bad. However there is no guide for guristas powergrid, hence my asking on the forums :P

I wouldn't usually bother, Gurista Annex rarely escalates for me, and when it does it's only ever made it to the last site twice. It's just that when I say empty I mean the wreck was entirely empty. No faction ammo, no t1 rubbish etc.

When that happens twice in a row, it makes me think I missed something.

Same thing happens on the Blood Raider one - until the one time you get a C-type mod. I think it's a byproduct of the normal loot table being superceded by the faction loot table, but I'm not sure.

I haven't done this one personally, but usually if you read the messages in local you have a good indication on what to do. If you read the pop-up messages, they will also tell you if your expedition has died or not (apart from the journal entry).

Well and why are there no 'guides' for stuff like this? Think about it - most explorers are just there for the bling, they are not interested in writing stuff down and putting it on a wiki - and then of course it might just be better to keep what you know for yourself, to not make it easier for the competition. :)

TLDR: I'm a bloody noob that clicks my way through all the messages with information and then whines on the forums.

Cool story bro.

I've done the Blood Annex one.

1 out of 5 times has the Dark Blood Colonel dropped anything. It sucks but hey, I don't complain about the 5 Dark Blood Battleships before him.

How may I drug you with drugs?

Hush Bear, or I'll tell them how you got killed by incursion rats on a nullsec roam.

Herp le derp, usually ships drop "something". When something seems off I'd rather ask on the forums than continually run the escalation incorrectly to increase the sample size of my data.

Your methodology sucks.

....my methodology sucks?

Your methodology consists of doing something twice and coming to the forums to cry.

Newsflash: final overseers/structures in escalations often drop absolutely nothing. Your lack of experience in this matter does not negate the truth of this.

I'm not complaining that it didn't drop anything, I'm making sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. I wasn't sure because I'm not a carebear.

So you'd run the site repeatedly until you had a big enough sample to decide you'd made a mistake? Nice one.

I'd remember that rarity is what makes these sites worth doing. Or perhaps you know, RUN MORE SITES. Seriously, the way you learn is by actually doing this stuff.

If you think there is a bug, file a bug report. Posting here is only going to get people like me to remember how stupid some people are (referring to you if that's not clear enough) and reply accordingly.
