Gunna be honest, its been a very long time since ive been excited for a patch, rather than feeling 'ah that will be cool'.

Assuming whats written happens, it will certainly attract me back to the game a fair bit.

I'll get excited about this the very instant even one of these features actually go live on TQ. CCP have let us down with their "promise the world, deliver a disused parking lot" interviews once too often.

No, wait. 20 times too often. We've seen these grand plans before. No dount the guy you interviewed would like nothing better than to implement all these changes, but the sad fact is that the CCP management won't allocate the resources. If we actually see ONE of the features he's talking about, I'll be surprised.

They have no credit left. No one gives a **** about what they say any more. We're only interested in what they can actually do.

Deliver or GTFO.

There will be a multitude of 0.0 changes, sovereignty cap changes, supercap changes, and resource distribution to help make the lay of the land and the society at war aspects of EVE Online much more compelling…

so can you confirm that this resource distribution that is changing is ice in empire and abc's in wh's? you coudl also deny it too, either way im good.

The Winterytime release will not be called Tranquility. I think a very specific part of his notes must've been borked.

Was the author wrong about any of the promised content? Or just the name?
Like, is EVE: Catwalk what is actually in the works?

That is either a strange Icelandic translation, or someone has just invented the ultimate NewSpeak word. Winterytime. Is that in early July?

The nerfs to supercaps will cause more super pilots to join the largest alliances who can properly "support" their deployment, further concentrating firepower/wealth in EVE. The end result will be fewer "fun" fights, and will hurt EVE in the long run.

Sure, that all sounds good. But how much of that are we actually going to see?

Keeping my fingers crossed and remaining optimistic! Big smile

Remembering that all of these expansions are free, I'll be happy if any of these above-mentioned features get put into play!

Yes, I am easy to please. Big smile

They should really call it the Tranquility patch.

I really hope CCP isn't suffering a severe case of cranial rectumitis when it comes to "resource redistribution". They need to understand that yes, Eve is actually four distinct sandboxes with high, low, null and Anoikis. Being as such, it's critical that they realize that taking the sand out of any one box won't compel people to go play in a different box. They'll simply look at their empty box and go home.

You forgot two more distinct sandboxes: the forums and the internet.

You missed the greatest sandbox of all...

Bitter-Vet reporting.

This is where we watch not what they say, but what they do. Like CCP Hellmar do us...wouldn't want it any other way.

Maybe we can hope for most of the promised features in...18 months as usual?

Just hope they don't screw up anything too bad this time around...game is still a bit wonky after Incarna ver.whatever hit.

Credit where credit is due: the recent UI changes are ok, the new forums seem ok, but damn...there's a lot of pointless stuff being made by CCP these days...

Have a nice day.

Some of the slightly misremembered details? I call Bullshit on the entire article. The only thing we might see for the winter expansion is the other 3 captain's quarters that we should have already had but no one really cares about.

It sounded to me like he's mistaken CCP's plans for the next year with the winter expansion coming in about 2-3 months. Shocked

I'd be very surprised if the art department can get establishments out the door, remodel/update every ship in the game and do whatever else needs doing for the first round of sov changes inside 3 months.

I do like this bit though;

Quote:
The defining goal of the expansion is to give smaller Alliances a place in the broader scope of EVE. They think that if they can achieve this, things will get much more interesting for everyone in the game.

We need the ability to rely less on being a part of power blocs and greater options to go it alone without thousands of members under our banners. Decentralisation of politics/power will lead to a more dynamic and interesting game.

This bit I'm not sure of:

Quote:

That implies that CCP is aiming to rebalance every ship in the game as part of one expansion. I don't know if that is insanely brilliant, insanely stupid or a missquote. I'm looking forward to finding out which. P

Personally, I think an expansion focusing on general rebalancing along with the beginnings of a well planned sov overhaul would make a good expansion. Provided that plan is firmly committed to over multiple expansion cycles. Unlike Dominion.

It does SOUND very good... But i really dont think they will be implementing all of that within the next few months

If they do.. Amazing

If they dont.. No surprise

But i am looking forward to seeing how this turns out.. Come on CCP turn things around
