That's the problem. They kinda did, or let on that they would. It got everyone's expectations so high that once the real, more subtle transformations came out, most were disappointed and couldn't appreciate them.

Me personally, I was a little disappointed at first, but I got over it pretty quick. I like the transformations. Except for the Kronos g̶o̶l̶e̶m̶. The hood lift thing is nice, but they missed a perfect spot for something else. On the inside on the two sides that go to the front, there's this circle with lights thing. Those could've come out like cylinders.

Edit: I mean the Kronos, not the Golem

I haven't seen the latest Vargur Bastion but did/will it be getting lights on its panels? because its animation seems the most underwhelming ATM, especially without light effects?

I was kind of wondering about that, too. It gets an "extra armored hunkered down" look, but not the lighting effects the others get.

if the first 3 marauder transformation didnt meet your expectation, why would you think the paladin would make any difference? i like them all , except the vargur . It needs glowing sails imo.

Firstly one part moving a little it's not a transformation ffs... Attention
Secondly when changes ware announced we got info that hulls will transform, have animation etc., overall that it will be something big.

Don't start something if You don't have time or will to do it properly. Srly why Kronos have nice animation with many parts moving when rest of marauders don't even have half as good "transformation"?

It's not that im do not appreciate what You do because sometimes we get from You guys incredible polished, professional and soooo good looking things like new remodeled hulls (e.g. Apoc, Mega), or V3 stargates, but sometimes we get stuff that seems to have opposite approach (e.g. this whole marauders thing, ship explosions, latest expansions).

And that latest approach: less and less content in expansions with starting new way without fixing drones, poses, pve etc ...
This time the scoop is enough, probably im suspending playing eve, and definitely not w8ing for rubi Ugh

So yes.. you did promise us Fancy Transformations. This is no where on par with the rorqual Or the Image Your Developer Linked. So, As the other Gentleman Said.. Yes You Did. You oversold the Bastion Transformation and were not able to deliver except for a few shifty barely noticeable parts. IT is not OUR problem that YOUR Art Team lacks the ability to design and implement effects as promised by your Representative. I Expected Gundam in space.. Or at least The Kronos Shifting into some Michael Jackson Robot. Instead the Kronos looks like it broke down on the side of the road and I had to pop the hood open to let it cool down... As I wait for a Concord State trooper to ask the obvious question" Spaceship problems son? ". The Only Decent Transformation ATM that is decent is the Golem Looking like it's Opening up to Deliver One hell of a Missile salvo.

Did anyone actually expect Gundam? Seriously? Why would I want my giant doom battleship growing arms and legs? It would completely go against EVE's aesthetics. If CCP -actually- introduced the ability to turn yours ship into a derpy robot, I would turn suicide ganker and lead the crusade to purge them with fire.

That aside, the Bastion animations seem roughly equivalent to the Rorqual. I think adding a couple more lighting effects might be nice, but the biggest oomph factor would come from an associated soundtrack of metal sliding, and a ship repositioning to match the animation.

Yeah, they def need a transforming sound effect. I was hoping it just wasn't added yet.

No, but we expected more than a couple flaps opening to show some glowy bits.

And what we have for transformations mostly don't make sense. Really, what is the point to exposing a couple cylinders to space on the Kronos? And why would you lift massive armor plates on the whole front of the ship instead of just making the cylinders rise up through the armor?

What should be happening on the Kronos is having armor repair plugs rise up in several places around the ship and armor plates sliding into place to cover sensitive areas.

That would make sense given the context of the module. Not lifting up your armor to expose the innards of the ship.

Aside from the new SoE ships and some new interface bits, this expansion is seeming very rushed.

I hope the vargur/paladin aren't finished yet.
The paladin animation is always visible, even when not in bastion which makes me kind of sad. I had hoped it would extend like the golem/kronos do.
And the vargur needs something...more visible...The armor plates are quite hard to see.

Due to comments by other ccp members, that have already been linked in this thread, I also expected more. However, I'm not upset at the simpler changes the ships have, I don't mind calling them animations, but really ccp, they aren't "transformations".

As for the Paladin, which is the only marauder I'm interested in, I really do like the extra heavy armor plate look it has now. Really has the armored war machine look. I can't wait to see the final paint job.

To Bunnyvirus and the art team, I would like to say, We only expected more because of what we were told. I fully support you guys because you have shown us really wonderful 3d work in the past. The marauders are a bit shaky now, but they are not finished, and I hope people will to be patient.

But on another note, I'm not seeing much difference in the model itself. i'm assuming that you guys will be sticking with the classic blood red and gold of Carthum Conglomerate?

Also, how far are the animations from being finished? i'm hoping they're a long way off so far as more animation would be nice for the Bastion effect.


50% of the ship had to be remodeled compared to the apoc and yes we stick to the red and gold colors. Regarding the animation, i doubt that much will change.


But these animations are not the transformations we were told the ships were getting. They are a weak, lazy shadow of an animation that I feel are only acceptable as a placeholder. I don't mean to offend the art team, but this is not in line with CCPs recent amazing art asset changes. The new ship models and effects all make these bastion animations look lowsy. I hope you reconsider their current iteration, as it is bad to call this their release state.

Yeah, I'm happy with the new animations, except for the part with the Kronos I mentioned. I mean, it's not bad, just coulda been better.

As for the Paladin, I liked the current skin it has on Sisi. Has this warrior paint look to it, or like a dazzle camo.

OMG people, relax.

They aren't finished. The golem isn't finished, the paladin has wrong textures, the vargur doesn't seem to even have any textures and missing part of the model. The only one that looks mostly done is the kronos.

We still don't know if there will be any fancy lighting or some type of effect when they go bastion. Give the art guys a chance.

Golem and by extension the raven need a remodel ... they are too square, short and the wings need to be symmetrical ...
birds aren't wonky so why are ships based on birds wonky and not even vaguely aerodynamic like a bird is

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

I just realized the Golem is missing the big arch shaped thing on the starboard wing thing with the antennas that the Raven has.. it makes it look empty and incomplete.
