C has my blessing if he want to keep the data publicly accessible, even if the data only mean something to older players, i think its something that should not get lost for the sake of honoring the past of EVE Attention

I came back to EVE earlier this year after a hiatus that started before Incarna. Previously, I did not even know that the old portraits were still available. While I much prefer the appearance of my new avatar (it is much closer in appearance to the versions of this character I have created in two other games), I am grateful for the opportunity to preserve my old avatar if only for nostalgia's sake.

CCP, I can understand you not wanting to continue to support this old archive, but if players like Chribba are willing to take over hosting, then by all means, please make this possible!

It would also be fun to have an offline version of the old portrait generator, but I'm sure that would take more work and effort than anyone wants to put into it.

Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.     _ - Kina Ayami_

Any one that reads these forums knows EvE players love to complain.

I am curious what the higher-ups think about letting an entity outside CCP host the old portraits. If there is no official word yet, just a hint as to what direction they are leaning towards would be appreciated.

never got to get to the site let alone find old id numbers.

So CCP cant find space to keep old portraits? really - does that mean you can't make payments and maybe it's doom for the big internet space ship game... maybe you should just give away all the stuff. Fire someone this is silly.
