Greetings capsuleers,

We are looking into reports of a performance drop in the Captains Quarters when using the DX11 client, if you have experienced this please reply to this thread with the following details:

GPU Model: i.e. NVIDIA 560 GTX.
Which Captains Quarters you were in? i.e. Minmatar CQ.
What were you doing when the performance dropped? i.e. I was in the CQ for 10 minutes and then my fps dropped from 60 to 25.

Moede is referring to the fact that until Rubicon is re-deployed the client doesn't support DX11, only DX9 (DX11 just results in a client black screen on boot as the files don't exist) so its not possible to feedback on this DX11 issue.

Are there any expected performance gains for using DX11?

EG - are there optimizations/improvements that would help folks?

not likely, aside from having to avoid the conversion layer from dx9 calls to dx11 for computers running dx11 hardware on win 7/8 the benefit would not be very noticeable, but this opens the options for new shinnies and performance improvements future wise.

ATI Mobility 5870 card with 1Gb DDR5 memory (I can upload DXDiag results if needed)

DX9 = 30fps average (up to 36), DX11 = 15-18 fps and stuttering (game freeze for 0.2-0.5 seconds). Caldari CQ

Just "walking in stations".

edit: correction: checked new version, fps is higher but it's jumping from 22 to 50 and still there is this strange stuttering. It's obvious when avatar is walking towards ship. I believe stuttering is related to smoke.

This ought to make gas clouds, POS shields and arrays/reactors even better.... :/

ATI Radeon HD 5450

When I start the client and log into the game I am using the average amount of system ram but after 10-15 minutes I am up to over 5GB used and less than a gig free. The frame rate starts to drop and the game freezes. Once a black screen and the other time I could see the hanger.

I haven't been able to see the CQ on SiSi or Tranq but I have a bad sector on one of my HDs and I had chalked it up to that.

We have discovered a memory issue which should now be fixed. We hope to have it up and running before the Mass-test today.

I upgraded my video card the other day and I have absolutely no problems now. Thanks again CCP Maxwell for the help with my old piece of junk.

My character model's facial dimensions revert to the default 'starter' model upon entering the CQ. Oddly, the character preview window, and re-customization feature do not have this effect. A bug report was submitted.

That said, can I have my disembodied head as my avatar?

I have this same thing happening, on all of my characters. Performance seems to be worse than on TQ, hovering around 40-50 FPS (On TQ, I am pegged at 60 FPS on interval 1). Also, just noticed in the monitor it reports my GPU memory at 0 MB, although not quite sure if this is causing any performance issues.

Edit: Just noticed the FPS issue was my fault, had SSAA set in CCC instead of MSAA, that was the reason for less FPSUgh lol. Although Caldari CQ still performs worse than the others do.

My Brutor character looks like that too, and his face is not right on top of that hahaha.
