Are there any chronicles or lore that indicates how mobile the non-capsuleer population of New Eden are?

Does the average Cluster resident move from planet to planet chasing dreams or work opportunities?

If anyone can direct me to any such data I would appreciate it.

Can't post any links, but off the top of my head I think I've read they are fairly mobile. Most habited planets to my understanding have space elevators (that we cannot see in-game) which has lowered the cost of space travel tremendously so that it is fairly affordable, perhaps to the point of what we pay for airline tickets. Of course if you are poor you are largely stuck where you live, as it is today.

But that's just what I think I've read from somewhere, if someone has better knowledge from books or such sources I have not read please correct me.

Well as they do have the option to work as crew on a capsuleer ship as well as navy and corporation ships I imagine some would get the chance, if they wanted, to travel just as much as most of us pod dwellers. However the risk for them would be alot higher.

One thing is I have never seen an npc use a jump gate, it must happen but now I think about it I haven't seen it.

But yeah I'd imagine high power jobs in corporations and pilot/crew jobs would allow for at least some cluster movement if not a little regional.

As far as law goes we know that there is some crew on most capsuleer ship's https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/New_Eden_crew_guidelines. Hope that was a little helpful. If not I'm sorry I'm new ;)

Pretty much the same as pod pilots - if you can afford it, go. Cost is probably similar to an airline ticket, like teinyhr said. Just think of the number of stations there are. They don't exist to serve the couple of pod pilots that dock every now and again, they are home to thousands. Thats a lot of people in space, even if CCP doesn't have any visible assets for them

It would be nice if CCP gave us some data on the baseline ships we would see other then NPC rats, the Navy ships, and Concord vessels. So much stuff they allude to but give no substantial details for.

I for one would like some facts about the use of space elevators to get into space from a planet's surface. Is it like taking a vertical train to the airport? Come on CCP give us a little something to go on here!

Trying to keep our back stories consistent with the lore is difficult when the lore is so sketchy.

I see NPC haulers leaving stations all the time, but where they warp off to is anyone's guess because I've never seen them anywhere else (like, gates, for example).

There are these big slingshots... and we... uhh... nevermind... Oops

In all seriousness, this is something that'd be pretty cool to flesh out eventually.

As far as I'm aware there is more then one stargate network...the one's we see are designed for pod-pilots so concord can monitor are movements (in high sec) think how many missions you do that have a stargate in which you cant use...(Blockade and Pirate campers come to mind)

Shitposts so bad CONCORD gave me a 50 billion ISK bounty

This got me thinking (over the last couple of nights especially). Will probably end up writing something on the train to the Hague to pass the time.

My suggestion is that you start with this URL as it branches off into numerous tails of groups and individuals who do move within New Eden. Each adds a new part to the mosaic of non-capsizal base life of New Eden.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

Here's the ingame description of "The InterBus"

Quote:
The InterBus is one of the more successful joint ventures the empires have undertaken. It was formed some 30 years ago to act as a neutral passenger transportation company that would span the entire known world. Since then it has evolved a bit, especially when it started to ferry goods too. The InterBus is used by the SCC to ferry goods between stations, as they are reliable and operate in every station in the world. As InterBus has to operate not only in empire stations, but also in pirate havens and other stations associated with organized crime, the company has to uphold a very strict policy regarding neutrality and secrecy. Even if the company is owned by the empires, no information regarding to shipments or station locations is ever given out. The strict adherence to these rules has allowed InterBus to operate without harassment in every corner of the world of EVE, making them one of the pillars of the inter-stellar community.

So now that their Customs Offices are being blown off by eggheads, maybe they should take a standings hit eh?

i'm thinking they take rides in transport ships or personal ships, those gallente yachts for rich people... the ships we use are military issue combat transport ships, not civilian ships

shuttles are the cheapest form of registered transport and many distribution missions deal with moving people/resources

also note that in the ISIS tab at the bottom we see a note saying the display is limited to military and industrial ships. This suggests that there are other passenger/cruise etc ships that aren't in the game.
