Bumping an old necro thread with my latest story.

Last night while diving near our chain I jumped into a c2.

After warping around a bit i see something odd on my DScan, yep that's right, a phoenix without a forcefield around it (in a c2). After a bit more dscan wizardry i eventually find this phoenix poco bashing.

I immediately warp to the poco and the shoosting commences while I am dialing every person i have in the batphone phonebook because it was 30 mins to downtime.

Needless to say, i could only get 10 bros to come out and help and the thing was safe and secure and the pilot didn't log back in.

Yep, lesson learnt

Epic fail: this past weekend's attempted defense of the Honey Badgers from Blood Union & Allies (henceforth BU&A).

My alliance -- Illusion of Solitude -- played a small part in the attempted defense of the system, mainly scouting and providing a small contingent to assist in the fight. Most of us were in ships borrowed from the Badgers that they ejected for us to use. The defense fleet

• Had no clear leadership,
• Had terrible communication,
• Staged in a reinforced POS,
• Had half the fleet logged off by the time BU&A attacked,
• Had spies/neutrals in the defensive fleet due to overly-permissive recruiting,
• Had an unpiloted Archon stolen from the POS by "friendlies",
• HB "allies" gave BU&A the POS password (including one idiot who named his ship the POS password, 'podsex') so that at one point the BU fleet successfully went bowling through the defensive POS,
• Spies communicated warp-ins to ensure the defensive fleet landed in a drag bubble (admittedly, this might have just been a scout warp-in fail, but given the level of intel leaked to BU&A, I think it's unlikely a coincidence).
• Had many who believed BU&A propaganda that they only had a small fleet in-system, and that the Honey Badgers defense was "blobbing" them and that BU&A were there for a "good fight", not an eviction.

Overall, a hilarious (but expensive) learning experience. The most one-sided waffle-stomping I've ever personally experienced. Congrats BU&A, and LOLs to we the defenders :-) The battle was lost long before it was started. Having good intelligence on your opponents is apparently worth far more than the ostensible size of your fleet.

Besides, could anyone really expect to survive that blobbing? What is it, 3 Bhaalgorns, 5 Guardians, 5 Legions and all the rest makes someone fail?

Iirc this group was running without scouts. We rolled in started scanning and noticed the group. Then pounced when we realized rhey weren't even watching d-scan.
