Make Tier 3 BCs skill reqs high

Why?

Well they are a specialised ship, so no newbies should be flying them straight away.
They are going to be a gank favourite, discourage alt recycling.

IIRC, the prereq is Battlecruisers 5 ... and large guns, etc...

is that not already a fairly long train? (well, a few months anyway)

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Just the facts, ma'am...
...as currently of today on Sisi...
...Cruiser 3 and Battle Cruiser 3...
...Tornado cannot fit a full rack of 1400mm artillery with out reactor controls
...So no need to get overly worried...
Its just the facts ma'am

edit: and/or the skills bugged as hell, 1400 scout no problem but T2 are just a *****. have all fitting reduction for weapons maxed, but

To bring 1400mm Howitzer Artillery II online requires 160.88 power units, but only 123.87 of the 1250.00 units that your power core produces are still available.

PG: 123/1250 used Ugh

makes no sense but the PG goes negitive into the thousands while equipping and then corrects itself. CPU shouldn't be a problem, 17.625 CPU per gun (checking fitting stats) x 8 guns = 141.2 but CPU is running 304/427.5 Question

second edit: PG doesn't calculate correctly when it shows, fitting the 8 guns has 7 onlined and 1 off with active pg at 123 when it should be 123x8= 984 + 123 = 1077 / 1250 which should still leave room to activate all 8

Can anyone fit the largest long range gun (Tachyon, 1400mm, 425m) to any Tier 3 BC ? Have maxed out fitting skills as well for gun support and CPU/PG of ship, but it looks like it should be possible without a reactor control.

I am not Ice mining. However, I do feel that in any situation, we should have time to react and a fair chance to survive. It shouldn't be a foregone conclusion no matter what you do.

That is fast, as for the rest, do you need a tank to gank? Just put power diagnostics on to fit he guns, weigh off the gain of a gun to the loss of a weapon upgrade.

Glass cannon. Gank or fleet spank. Not the best 1 vs 1, not the best PVE ship, et cetera ad nauseum. They are rather specialised.

Now ... why would a veteran player with all those skill points find this upsetting enough to use expletives? Hmmm ... I wonder ... Roll

They're nothing special honestly, and you need to train a lot of skills to make them really shine (T2 large guns are no joke).

I can get a character into a Tech 1, tier 3 battleship pretty quickly. That doesn't mean I'm going to be able to access its full potential.

It should be more expensive though.

I don't know what it costs but I think it should cost as much as a Tier 1 battleship.

They're not particularly specialised, and already have skill requirements that far outweigh their lower-tier siblings, so they're not something a newbie will get into straight away.

Recycled alts will go for BSes due to lower costs and wider arrays of options for wreaking havoc.

Yay Tipsy has arrived!

Maybe BS needs a review too. Far too many newbs get into a BS then get ganked and rage quit. Should be something you only start to think about when you are around the 10M SP mark.

No review is needed. Let them learn the hard way if they want to rush into battleships.

i'd rather reduce skill requirements and let people use whatever they can afford.

They are Tier 3 but still Tech 1.

From what I have seen on the test server they may require only some basic skills, but to really make full use of them players will have to train large T2 guns which takes quite an amount of time and specialisation. Even then excellent fitting skills are a must-have, since the Tier 3 are short on CPU/PG.

There is really no need to put an arbitrary skill at level 5 as a minimum requirement.
