I really wanted only 2 things changed in eve:

- a fix when warping through a planet (a cousin happened to be in my room once, he never played EVE before and likes games, and while watching how I play the game, he saw the ship warping through a planet - reaction.."oww, that sucks")

- miss animations

Thanks for fixing them, the new warp effect is fixing the problem and I can't wait for the update

Current bug to make the new warptunnel disappear:

Use your scanner to open system view and select a planet or moon or anything as your destination, just before the warp starts switch back to normal view, no warp tunnel and sometimes if youre late enough switching back no ship either until you drop out of warp. So far this is the only bug i found that kills the warptunnel. It is very simmiliar to what happens viewing the starmap while warping.

Anyone else notice this?

Any changes to the warp effect in today's build? I didn't notice anything different.

^^ This, though it took me a few hours on Sisi before I started to like it, same as with anything that's new and unfamiliar I guess..

I like love the effect when warping through a planet. Big smile

Ah, so it is! Here's hoping we'll get dispersion back as well.

Any chance to disable the shaking?

It makes me queasy.

Isn't that already an option?

I would like to ask if the warp-inside-planet entry timing can be tightened up. Especially noticeable if you're already near a planet when you start warp; the whole screen changes even though you can see you are well and truly not there yet. The first time this happened I was warping from a stargate and thought I had somehow encountered another planet; it was really not that close at all. And if you start from a planet, and warp through the planet, the screen-filling effect appears while your ship is practically still at a standstill. You can plainly see the planet hadn't yet gone anywhere.

Is it problematic to change the timing to something simply much more closely connected to when the ship hits the planet surface?

I noticed there wasn't as much red/blue shift effect at the ends of the new warp tunnel. I really liked this. Can we have the stars going bright red/blue?

I see the Doppler effect is back, but the dispersion effect was super cool, bring that back please!

I know it isn't the most important thing, but it would be great if a dev could tell us whether dispersion is coming back or not. Smile

Is there anyway to make the ripping effect more pronounced?

I mean, my drive is warping space after all. I want to see them stars/nebulae rip apart!

Seconded seconded seconded. The rippling effect is the best part, but when I warp I barely see it. In fact, look at this video of someone using the new warp:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L35ZkxJSNAA

It looks great. When I do it on my machine the watery rippling is nowhere near that. It is in fact almost non-existent and the only reason I don't say completely non-existent is because if I watch really carefully I can see a ripple once in a while. That's how un-pronounced it is.

Why??? How come my warp tunnels barely ripple at all, while in that video above it looks awesome; like it's tearing that planet into a beautiful mess. It's the sickest effect in Eve and I don't get it. :( Can anyone explain?

Whatever people are saying about the dispersion effect, CCP, please consider that too. Just for the sake of there at least being one of these long-awaited effects returned that doesn't come with a little disappointment for once. I feel like for every super-overdue un-nerf we get in the presentation department, there is always some key element that's a little worse or missing. So I feel for the people missing this part of warp tunnels.

But yeah any ideas on why my warps barely ripple? Is it possible to amp that up somehow?

I can't get over the fact that you warp THROUGH a planet. It's so amazingly awesome.

Not a diplo.

the dispersion stuff will come back. it is work in progress. it has been mentioned somewhere else but i don't remember where.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Might be that your graphics hardware, graphics drivers and/or detail settings don't support that particular effect. If someone else has it and you don't, it's likely your machine is at fault.

I think I have the same problem.
I made a video about it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k8Y2lSorl8

All graphical settings were on high, all effects were turned on and 1680x1050 resolution.

ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 2x 3.00 GHz 4GB RAM

I know tha gpu is relatively old but supports directx10 and shader modell 4.0 so it shouldn't be a problem. I hope this is just some kind of vga type specific compatibility issue what they can fix and my gpu isn't just old enough. Sad

We resolved this issue today, you should be able to see the fix in tomorrows Singularity update.
