Hello.
i have just exported 23240 units of plasmoids from a Planet. The Export tax was set to 8%.
By selecting a single unit of Plasmoids eve tells me it is worth 214 isk.
So my Batch is worth 4.973.360 ISK.

With the 8% export tax i should have payed 397.868 isk for exporting the plasmoids.

However, i was billed 929.600 isk for exporting.
Thats a tax of 18,69 % not 8%

For 929.600 isk beeing 8% of 23240 units of plasmoids a single unit would have to be worth 500 isk.
Which it wassnt for a long time and probably never will be.

what is wrong here?

please advise. thank you.

Taxes are "static" - they're only updated a few times a year (same as Insurance payouts).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

The tax is not based on market value of the item, but on a set price per tier of commodity.

Basic - 500
Refined - 9,000
Special - 70,000
Advanced - 1,350,000

Keep in the back of your mind that these numbers will change in Rubicon - read this dev blog for details.

This man is correct. The other reply was incorrect.

Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85
