Cosmos missions and bpc's are worthless and pointless

I have done over 95% of caldari cosmos missions, got the blueprints, now to the building.......... errrrrr. some of the common bits used in say for example Gurista' type module bpc do drop in worthwhile numbers, but the bpc's don't need many of them. The rest come from one or two Data hacking sites in that particular cosmos region around friggi/otitoh.
Switch to Talocan based module bpc's, and any decent bpc's for cruiser/bc/bs sized modules and you can obtain 3/4 of the components through the cosmos archaelogy sites. The most important item " stasis deflector " seems to be like finding a needle in a haystack, it rarely spawns in hacking cans. Meaning many of your cosmos bpc's will never get built, meaning your invested time to receive the bpc as a reward is wasted. This particular component is priced at around 300 mill on sell orders ( theres at max half a dozen for sale in jita ) this pushes the cost of building say a Poncho cloaking device to around 400 mill, yet since the stats on that module are not exactly stand-out, nobody wants one. As theres none moving on the markets, it becomes an expensive ornament.

This could be fixed by either creating a better, maybe slightly riskier place to get these items, or increase their dropping from hacking cans which would re-invigorate interest in building them, increasing pricing competition in the market for components, but only if these modules had better stats. Often these modules have slighly lower cpu than their meta 4 counterparts, yet their stats often cannot compete with their T2 varients that cost 1/100th of their price. Then theres the faction/officer varients that are way way better that are priced at 150 mill upwards, so even the low end faction/officer versions are still better value, have better stats and have a much higher turnaround on the markets.

It is pretty much the same story with building the cruiser/bc/bs mods that need gurista parts. light/med and heavy weapon consoles are nigh on impossible to acquire meaning these never get built, never get used, and never make it to the markets.

Also, a good 60% maybe 65% of bpc's from cosmos's come from caldari cosmos's, look at the bpc's that come from the other 4 races. amarr, gally minmatter cosmos's yield about 1/10th of the bpc's for running the same amount of cosmos missions, so nobody wants to run those.

One of them ( i think it is gally cosmos's ) used to drop the two named DCU bpc's. from what i can gather, these " chunks of gold ", are no longer present in the game. Compare that to caldari cosmos agents that hand you a ready built named cloak ( guise ), a guise and poncho cloak bpc, and michi's excavation implant worth 1.5 billion and the biase is all wrong. ( michi's implant is in the only mission i believe where the mission pocket doesn't respawn the can/completion item ), if somone warps in and steals it from you. why? So someone can invest a good month of their time wasting time to get bpc's that they can never realistically build, but has the golden carrot of an implant at the end of the rainbow, so that someone can come in, steal it and hold it to ransom.

Cosmos's are what 7-8 years old and have never ever been shown some love by the devs. Whilst it is fine adding new content to make the game have new paths and options for the paying player trying to drive us into lowsec or pvp, the rest is left untouched.

Archaelogy sites in cosmos systems never drop bpc's either, and the same for decryptors. However, I have so many Talocan technology skillbooks, I have enough stock to supply a medium corp + alts. These skillbooks are present in 1/2 of all hackable cans in a caldari archaelogy site, yet nobody wants the skillbooks because nobody wants to build the items due to the difficulty of getting the bits and how poor the module stats are.

You have turned the hacking into a mini-game ( i can live with that ), then you have to guess which can may have the item you need and god forbid if you do miss it because there won't be another one for hours even days. ( don't say gang up either because how do you split a stasis deflector in two or more parts since all cosmos runners want the same items ).

broken is a word that springs to mind. Can we please have some love for this element of the game, if you are not going to improve the stats of these mods, then how about altering the loot drops to make them or change the components needed to build them.

I'm betting it is the same for the other 3 races.

At least the COSMOS missions are consistently working again.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Maybe part of EVE's Second Decade can include finishing up the COSMOS system.

Who am I kidding? CCP is the king of Fire-and-Forget.

You know that COSMOS missions only works once for a character and thats it - the end.

Meaning, you get to have this once and if it breaks for some reason you don't ever get to have another one.

Once upon a time... -errm I mean a long time ago there was no tech2 of anything. There was only tech one and meta stuff.

I see those more like a treasure of sorts that you can collect and keep starring at as hangar collectors items.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

I'd love to use cosmos items if they weren't so expensive. That 7 pg nos/neut on a frigate. 1pg makes a whole lot of difference in fitting them.

Posting to confirm the amarr/caldari cosmos line does not drop over 7 billion in loot.

They need to make COSMOs repeatable... say once per year,

i wouldn't say repeatable, but i'd certainly hope they balance the missions across all 4 races better and make the mods more " buildable ", too much effort to make a mod that aint as good as a t2 version. I know they came out before t2, so isn't it about time they got some love instead of consigning their unbuilt bpc's to the hanger floor. maybe even introducing an element of the game to these modules that makes them stand out.
I did another 4 hrs of archeolgy in otitoh. pointless, still can't build anything worthwhile.

Just call them epic arcs and have them repeat every 3 months.
