I'm somewhat new to the game. Been here 5 months, and don't know much about the incursions. Read the whole post. Idk, I'm an older guy and don't get the criticisms about "walls of text". I remember when there was no internet and, heck, no PCs. Atari Pong was the rage, lol. I loved to read back then. Still do. Seems we're "evolving" short attention spans. But I was able to glean what this guy was talking about after reading his post for, yes, a 2nd time, and find it interesting. The incursions, I gather, were supposed to foster team play, and OP is saying "Is that still happening"? One of the more intelligent posts I've read here. Don't flame tthe guy. Respond intelligently.

Having to read it a second time is part of the problem with a wall of text. Everyone wants to write an essay, yet no one wants to use any sort of proper format. It frankly makes it painful to try to read through and many times the salient points are lost.

Yeah, I have seen some bad walls of text, and agree salient points can be lost. The main reason I had to read it twice is because of a lack of familiarity with the incursions. A certain amount of familiarity is assumed by the OP.

you turn up and shoot red crosses with other people.

congratulations you're now familiar with incursions.

TL;DR Incursion drama.

CCP love drama in EVE, working as intended.

The CCP devs are on record as basically stating that incursions were designed so that people could **** each other over. Incursions were based on some UO killing fields PvP thing the devs enjoyed.

So, works as designed.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I read it. It could have been summarized into one post and three or so paragraphs, but hardcore incursion runners seem to adore theatre and drama. This particular drama has been going on for months -- if it's the same group going around popping moms if they don't get their way, that is.

OP, I don't know what kind of response you want. It could be said that "The Perpetrators" are douchebags, but douchebaggery isn't against the rules of the game or anything like that. Maybe you should all gang up together and gank the crap out of them, repeatedly.

No they are not working. They have been highjacked by a few groups who truly feel they are superior human beings. See, although they once had no ISK, no skills, no sociable assets... they don't want you to know this.

See, in their eyes, when they started their EvE accounts, they had 75 million skill points, 1 Billion ISK hulls and another 5-10 Billion ISK in mods sitting in their hangars. Also, they were blessed to be an FC even before they were born... This is what they want you to believe.

Question... If a town's lone restaurant is looking to hire servers and is only willing to hire uber-experienced servers, and the town has plenty of workers but without any server experience, and are perfectly capable of learning such a mundane and easy job, how does that restaurant find workers and how do the workers find jobs?

Incursions are a joke... They are great for little dicks with huge egos or for those who have a need to feel important and like to act like god when they are FC.

Sounds like OP is asking CCP to step in to stop a particular group of incursion runners from actually running incursions. What a ridiculous notion.

Sounds like someone's little-****-ego got bruised. Or snubbed.

On what do base this wild claim?

The stated purpose of incursions were to give EVE players real cooperative PVE game play. It succedded at that in high sec. Outside of high sec it's just a headache that will either be snuffed out as quick as an alliance can get around to it or be ignored completely. High Sec incursions are one of my favorite high sec pve activities.

However, incursions aren't any better at preparing a player for PVP than any other PVE activity in EVE. It's way too 'canned' and safe for that. Pvp training requires loss and loss is very rare in incursions and have been since about 2 weeks after incursions started (when people figured out how much logi you need to survive).

Groups and activities like RvB and Faction Warfare are way better ways for a player to dip their toes in pvp. Faction warfare PVE in particular takes players into hostile space where it's lvie or die.

One thing that gripes me is that incursion systems still have concord. The almighty insta-pop concord, that can't kill a single sansha? 'Please, get rid of CONCORD from incursion sites', this is what the hardcore RPer in me is saying.

Also why would Sansha invade high sec so much? We need better ai, that learns from it's mistakes and doesn't throw away countless npc slaves lives.

Also i'd like to announce my intention to set up an incursion griefing channel, dedicated to griefing incursion runners, ECMing out logis in sites in 10 mil fit BBs, ganking bill plus ships and finishing the mothersite ASAP to **** over incursion runners. Incursion tears so salty mmmm...

While Auth Hand is a bit of a derp I have to back him up on at least that, using myself as the example. When I started playing the game I stayed in high sec space and was a normal carebear. I was bad at PvP, I made crap isk doing mining. I was most things GD hates. Then I ran incursions with, imo, one of the friendlier(at the time) large groups. We joked around a lot but when it came time to get to it we were serious. I learn how to behave in fleets. I learned the importance of fleet doctrines. And most importantly, I learned that it's just a ship and its okay to lose it.

Eventually I moved out to null following some friends. We were minions of Solar in Malpais so you know how that went. When I came back to civilization I eventually found the corp I am in now. Bad lowsec pilots and having a blast while we do it. If I never had the isk from incursions to keep me plexed and in the game, the tedium of mining and missioning in high was making me consider unsubbing.
